SEO and traffic?

Thing to do for SEO:

1) On Page Opt

- Title,Meta Tags,Keywords,Heading Tags,Image Titles,Alt etc !

2) Search Engine Submission : automatic or manual

3) Directory Submission

4) Article Submission

5) Social Bookmarking

6) Link Building

Are these all? i've done it but i didn't get much traffic now. Only getting about 15-20 uniques a day. Where did I go wrong?

PS:my blog uses subdomain.

 

Content is the king.
The more original content you write the more visitors you will get.
Google love fresh content.

 

I didn't see anything about ADVERTISING ... that's the most important type of SEM ... .. try paid blogposts on high traffic blogs, TLA on good websites and etc ... that's what gives traffic ...

If you don't get good traffic from SEs then you don't have good keywords or you have too much competition in your niche ... depends ...

May i know how long have you been working to link bait for your site? Traffic from Search Engines do not come overnight. You will need to work hard in the start to see the results over a few months.

 

Unless your site is remarkable and offers better content than other blogs it's not going to get many readers.

Ask yourself if you and your friends would read your blog on a regular basis. If the answer is no then you will struggle to promote it.

Good question. Step 2 should at least have been deleted as the people in that thread made it clear (including myself) that submitting your site to search engines is NOT going to work in terms of getting ranked in those same search engines.

 

link baiting can got you a lot of traffic.. create articles that is fresh and related to your sites!

 

how many articles? Do you rewrote each of your articles? How many times per day?

 

You should just add a blog to your site and write good posts on the blog. Bloggers would much rather link to other blogs than just an article page.

 

Time to time update your blogs and do directory submission of your blog.

i create 1 articles per week and submit it to 3 articles directories per day... i rewrite some of it...

I think that a bit harsh. I have seen some not so outstanding blogs that have quite few comments in blog posts throughout the blog. The way are saying is, that to geta regular readership, you need to be the best in the business. Lets face it, very few blogs can hope to become that because they don't have the financial resources of the topb logs, some of which are owned by big corporations.

 

My point was that promoting something is hard unless its remarkable.

Most average content can be promoted with a lot of effort but it makes more sense and saves time in the long term if you create a cool site to start with.
