Hi everyone :) I am from Hong Kong.
I would like to know what's the opinions of foreigners about Hong Kong this place? Or the residents live in Hong Kong? Have you ever been there?

Never been to HK because but my assumptions is that it's a VERY busy, loud and populated city ;) I can imagine grey colors on end with lack of trees.

HI Charliesiuh. I see it as a city Chinas government use to trick the world to think that they are not totally a**holes :D
I see it also as a place where rich people exploit poor people.

    I hope I am wrong.

Actually do you think that Hong Kong is still under the control of China?
Being a HongKonger, I think we should thanks and appreciate the rule of British government in the past... If HK has never been the colony of British, introducing capitalism and foreign rule, I think all of the HKers have to farm and fish and with a more terrible government like mainland China...

Here are my associations: big, smoggy with a lot of restaurants and cheap markets. :D

Sorry, it's probably a typical European description. lol

HK is part of Chinese of course. But my meaning is that, everyone can see how bad and sucks the lives of mainland farmers nowadays. Comparing with most of the Hong Kong people, at least they own a job, and monthly salary is much higher than those in mainland... In China, most of the people could only earn not more than 50$ per month.

I've got a couple of friends from Aberdeen :)
One is on a British passport (now an HK/Australian citizen) and the other is on a Chinese passport - and they both have extremely different opinions on what is/was best for HK.

I'll eventually visit one day, I'll have to time my visit with the HK Winter though - I couldn't handle the humidity any other time.

No of course. I am totally agree with you. Hong Kong has many restaurants and markets in this little spot city on the map. But I think Hong Kong's position is falling and became worse and worse.... If I have to thank the HK government, I think the only good thing they did is building the Disneyland. Although not many HKers were interested in that.

Thats what I meant with my comment about China being ***holes. They dont drain HK totally, they need a face to the world that dont show the true leadership of the country and that makes China looking more liberal to foreign investors. I am sure the government really hate the Hk system though.
