    What decides or who decides how a site becomes an Authority site?

    First i thought maybe to do with huge number of backlinks, certain types of pages, or something else, i dont fully understand how, but ive seen a warez site that is an "Authority site" how does that happen?

    Ofcourse Google awards the STATUS.
    Authority sites mean -- you have reached the ultimate goal in your niche field. You have achieved everything --and G awards it based on duration, respectability of your site in your niche industry and many other factors.

    Once you are authority --you are the BOSS in ur field.:p

    Even an A or G sites can become an Authority sites when they reach their ultimate goals.

    So from among us -- I know of 13 Authority directories so far.:D
