Pointless threads in the AdSense forum?

I dont know maybe im just being stupid, but there have been 10's of pointless and stupid thread in the AdSense forum. Here is a list on the front page:

    Today I got 0.86$ for 1 click!
How much are you earning per Month through adsense?
    High PPC Today / Record
    [Help] Dropping CTR

    & last but not least I've made X (today|yesterday|this month|last month)!!!

While these threads are useful to others and perhapse can be defended as being inspiring. The failure of people to report urls to the related websites and niche of talked about websites, it is nothing more than self ego rubbing and people spending there time posting "oh how wonderful you are" and bumping it back onto the top of front page.

As such i feel these threads devalue the quality of the AdSense forum that really should never have been there. Espically as they should be in the reporting & stats sub forum.

But be perfectly clear about this, if the site and niche is mentioned I dont think any of these threads would have an issue. But people are too scared(in fear of click bombing) which leads right into thoes who wish to complelty lie about there earnings just to get several thousand views on there thread and earn some money through the shared revenue program.

    What do others think?

    Pierce

*edit* the suggestion is to peanalize people who create such threads that dont at least mention a niche.

    I saw that post..

But I agree, some people just spew out pointless statistics without any explanation on how they got it.. or even posting advicethat goes with it.. such threads just leads to other people running up their post count with "congrats" and such ;)

Maybe all the click threads could go into one big folder.

yeah i totaly agree, but whats worse is somebody will see how many views that thread gets, up the earnings to something huge and get a lot more views. The first few that started last year (when i first came onto the forum) were grand and they were nice to see, since then the money has kept going up till a point you just have copycats.

that would be a great idea, can i douse it in gasoline and set it on fire once its full ? :p

Maybe add in a sticky thread:

How much did you earn today Sticky thread can be placed. who really cares.. unless you used some unique placement that helped you gained a lot of $$$ or even marketing your site in a unique way that helped you earn $$. :p it has to benefit us (through learning from people's experience) or else it's just trash.

Overall you're right; its a fact that those kind of threads don't make any sense, and it makes the adsense part a bit more crappy.

On the other side, I guess its impossible to disallow similar threads.
I think the best option would be to make 1 thread like "post your 1 click record", to avoid new threads like "today had a click of $x !!".

Well, thats just my opinion of course lol :)

Lol what I think should happen is someone should invite Google Adsense over here and ban all the click thread owners :p .

Give them the rep they deserve? I don't think that most of the threads are against the DP Guidelines, though they are likely against the community as a whole, as I'd be willing to bet many of them are to increase thread count (and revenue sharing).

Rate the threads as worthless, and pass along some of your hard earned green rep to them. I mean, heh, it's the least you can do ;)

"I got an $xx click!!" "Why is my CTR so low?" "Adsense sucks!"

There are too many of these threads; it's becoming more difficult to filter them out.

Well I saw many threads where people just open a thread for all time high earnings or getting $50 or more income. Well I also agree on one simple thread where people can express their archivements in One thread.

I really couldn't agree more - it's something I've jokingly mentioned before - the idea of awarding infraction for threads with titles along the lines of 'I got a $5 click today' and 'My first $50 AdSense day'. I suppose they do serve to strengthen people's faith in AdSense, but I suspect a lot of these are just post-padding and boastful nonsense. That's just my take.

Direct Ban for a week would do it. It isnt not that long and its enough for members to be understand and better than infraction.

A week is a bit much isn't it? Even 4 days would do the trick! (or less)
