Some browsers redirect my URL to /30

    Hi all,

I desparately need help. I've had a frustrating problem with my website.

When you open my site using IE, you can view it perfectly... no problem.

But when you open it using some other browsers (i'm not sure which, but i think using Netscape) the URL gets redirected to /30 instead of /index.htm.

I just have no idea how to fix this....

My website is FinancialFreedomAwaits.com (can't post any live links).

    HELP!!!

    Using Firefox.

This is your problem. The correct would be :

But please don't use Meta refresh :)

OH MY GOD!! I LOVE THIS FORUM!

Thanks a lot, expertu!! I think you fixed it! :D

I deleted the refresh meta tag. To tell you the truth, I don't even know what that is.... I generated the Meta Tag code using a Meta Tag generator software and all I did was just copy and paste it.

    What is it for anyway?

That meta tag was supposed to reload the page every 30 seconds. It's completely useless.

Most of the other Meta tags on the page are also completely useless. I would dump all of them except the Description meta tag. The content-language and content-type Meta tags might still be useful, and some people still use the keywords meta tage, although none of the major search engines recognize it.

The content-type tag also has an error in it. It does not declare a character set. It should read something like this:

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1>

I don't know what meta tag generator was used, but proper disposal of this tool might be beneficial.

Don't believe it when designers of Meta tag generator tools try to convince you that using them will improve your search engine rankings. That's been obsolete for years.

Aaah, ok. That makes sense since there's the refresh in the code. :p

Alright! :) Also, should I keep the Title, and Keywords meta tag? I know I will be keeping the Description meta tag.

Thanks. I've fixed it now. :)

It's a free software from AffiliateHeadquarters.com. I was so excited that I found it because I thought it would give me a great help with my website considering that I'm still quite a newbie in this stuff.

Aah! Ok, I know that now. Thanks a lot you guys!

Yes. Definitely keep the title tag and description tag for sure. Keywords meta tag won't hurt though it's infrequently used now.
