I am interested in the number of static versus dynamic ads. How many users/ads on the netwrok is static and how many is dynamic? Also, i am supposing that the static ads are increasing (because it was introduced not that long back) - how fast is it increasing? Does anybody care to shed some light on this?
I don't think anyone knows, because it's totally up to the site owner, and no one is polled on what they are using.
I amost posted this in "Ranking Experiment" thread but didn't want to be beaten. For shits and giggles why not try an experiment similar to the "Ranking Experiment" that would settle a common curiosity? Pick 3 very similar charity sites. Assign, say, 10,000 weight to each. Make the only difference the type of links; A=100% static, B=50/50, C=100% rotation. At the end of 1, 3 and 6 months see: - Which obtained more click-throughs - Which moved the most in the engines - etc.
How would you do that? As Shawn has said no one knows what sites are running what type of ads, and even if you did, you can't pick what sites your ads are displayed on when using the coop.
I thought that the # of static/rotating could be adjusted at the server for one particular site. Sorry if I was wrong.
