But if I don't like the site for some reason - I don't approve it.

Some guy called me names for not taking in po*n link.

Just thougt that is what him mom tought him and let him go.
He did not get to add his site.

I got one a few days ago.

I'm guessing I didn't fill something out to their specifications - but, then again since I read those, he mustn't of had one to follow in the first place.

I just shake my head at their foolishness of not clearly defining what makes a valid submission and move on.

In the long run - their loss not mine.

One of my directory was rejected by another directory few months back. I did nothing --but resolved myself that --some-day I would make my directory bigger and greater than his/her and make that directory submit to mine:p

I don't always see a rejection as a mistake I made. Sometimes directory owners only want "quality links". If my site is rejected then I always guess it's not what they are looking for and move on to the next.

I haven't been rejected very many times, I did recently get rejected by Starting Point because my directory didn't have an Alexa ranking of less then 50K how sucky is that? I did get full refund though so I can't complain.

I got a few of them as I paid to have my directory submitted to 500 sites I looked at the sites that rejected me and if I still wanted to be in I resubmitted it other than that I let it ride

I have not used directory submission services in a while, not sure who would submit to a directory like that one. I actually wouldn't want to be in. I just want to know which site has been submitted and from where.

I've been rejected enough times that I don't let it bother me. Some offer a reason why and others don't. I take it that my submission did not meet their minimum guidelines and keep moving forward.

Some of the sites that I think could provide me with some value are bookmarked and I'll submit at a later date. With most, I don't look back.

In answer to OP's question, let it ride. Time is too valuable to do otherwise.

That is the weirdest requirement I've ever heard! They don't state that anywhere on their site that I can see. Also Alexa is inaccurate and also varies greatly over time. Finally, it limits their directory to at most 50K links, and actually a lot less as a lot of the top 50K sites are not in English.

    Agree 100% but:_
Seems normal to me the 'blind leading the blind' limited to maybe less than 50% of 50K the level in incompetence in this market is bewildering

Rejection huh! don't even waste your time opening the rejection email and if you do and reply expect to find your email box full of spam the next time you open:eek:

I usually let it ride. Sometimes I'm tempted to submit a different website just to check whether or not the rejection actually had something to do with the quality of my website, or if it's because they claim to be free but are routinely rejecting all free submissions. I try to refrain from doing this, though, because I've found that in practice this happens all too often.

For a paid submission, I would only challenge it if no refund were offered, and there was nothing specific in the guidelines that would explain why they wouldn't list my site. So, never (because why buy from a directory that doesn't offer a refund?)

Mine was rejected by Joe Ant for not having a Contact Page (a real contact that you have like a brick and mortar one. ) Some people don't even realize that were in the same dump to not know. Well its an authority site so better follow the rules. What can I say.

I dont care if I get rejected...
I simply move on and submit to the next dir.
The average man only lives for 25550 days... Why would anyone want to spend even one of those stressing over a submitted website? ;)

Well, if it is a really important directory I would send mails to the webmaster over and over, but if it is just a minor one, I wouldn't care.

And this is why there are a lot of directories which won't send out rejection notices at all.

    I let it ride.

However, my favorite is when you get a rejection email that says you didn't follow the guidelines, please review them. And when you go to the site, there aren't any guidelines listed anywhere......

I like how when you get a rejection email it tells you rejected but if you want they will consider a feature or paid link:confused: if its not good enough for free then why give you money to reject it again
