Simple PHPLD Tweak/Mod to allow sponsors of top hits and Latest links pages

    Hi All,

I am not sure if this one has been done before, I did a quick search here and on the PHPLD site and didn't see anything.

Here is a quick and easy mod that will allow you to add a "Sponsor" to your Popular Links (top hits) page and your Latest Links page.

An example can be found here: http://www.linksholder.com/index.php?list=top

I have implemented in 3.1, and will be doing so shortly in 3.0.6 and 3.2. So I am not sure if it works in the other versions yet (although I don't see why it wouldn't). Will post those instructions as soon as I get a chance.

** This is an homage to Mhamdi and his free contributions :) ***

    Enjoy,
    Morty

    Thanks Smub.
I am going to be adding this to all of our directories. These pages typically get a lot of page views, (and have good PR value), so I figured folks might be interested in sponsoring these pages.

    Looks cool.
I hope someone comes out with a list of all these little (& big) things we can do to our directories cause there seems to be a lot of options and they are all over the place, and I know I would like to add some in the future. Free & pay ones.

As I am writing this, I think someone here started that...now I gotta go find it!

ah, you sure use up a lot of page real-estate for the one sponsor. It looks kind of out of place IMO you might want to figure out a way to blend it better with the rest of the page.

hmmmm, what browser are you using? It shouldn't take up that much real estate.
(never mind, I am looking at it in IE now, YUCK) Will fix shortly.

yep IE6, it is just sort of sitting in the middle with large amounts of white space on either side.

    OK, fixed it.
I was missing a TD tag. I will go sit in the corner for being sloppy ;)

Thanks for the heads up, I appreciate it.
