I'm pretty sure it'd be impossible to run a server off a dynamic IP, and my ISP want over £40/mo and a business account to have a static IP. Does anybody know of a cheap/free way around this problem...?
Be aware that the upstream is going to be so slow that this will be worthless for all but the smallest personal applications.
The best way it's to use a shared hosting... it's cheap, and it worth much more as to have a dyndns and lock your computer online 24h/day. The cheap/free way it's to seek hostings that care about your website. It's a matter: do you want free or not. One of the best it's the hostmonster, pretty cheap, and giving LOT of features. I personally use a LunarPages hosting, and i'm fully satisfied by their services. Or you can get a .info domain for 1$ from godaddy, bundled with cheap hosting fees... search for free web hosting on google... etc. Hope that help
No other possible way except using service like DynDNS. One day your site is accessible by 1 IP and other day with some other IP. Practically, not possible but with dyndns, it isnt going to be that fast even!
I personnaly use http://freedns.afraid.org, a script update my dynamic IP adress at every address change..... I've encountered no problems...
