I have a site that I started a few months ago that I rarely update but I'm ready to begin some serious work on it. The site is http://www.homeusersecurity.com When I started it I was messing around with Joomla. should I stick with Joomla or move to Wordpress. I don't think there are any big differences in terms of SEO, although Joomla does seem to load a bit slower. Is it worth the time to redo the site with wordpress? I would like to hear every opinion good and bad...
Yep. Joomla is beast compared to WP, Wordpress is very lightweight and can do everything Joomla can. Roll with Wordpress.
If you plan on using something similar to Joomla, then I would recommend Drupal. Drupal managed to surpass Joomla while its dev team got lazy.
Are you going to organise the content as a Blog type site? Or you going to add pages using the WP pages feature? Like for the ABout Page. I go for WP Usually, but i have seen some simple hand coded sites that loads faster and looks easy to add pages..
If you're thinking of simply publishing articles perhaps with a few whistles and bells then go for WP... If you're developing a fully featured site with content, feeds and more complexity have a look at drupal / joomla...
It looks like you're publishing articles, so WP is perfect. Though, if you wanted to go back to a "Joomla" type system, I would change to Drupal. It is WAY better, and easier to handle (from limited experience)
I found Wordpress much easier to use and customize than Jhoomla. Yes it loads faster too. If you are asking from SEO point of view, I don't think there is much difference between the two.
I made the switch to wordpress. I think because of the nature of the site....credit news/updates. the blog type is perfect although I'll add important information on pages
WP is Lightweight and good most of the times. But when your site grows it Will need more than WP. Then we go Heavyweight.
