Adding IP Addresses

    Hey,

I recently got another IP address from my data center so that I can keep some sites separate (for linking reasons)...what do I need to do to make it so that I can set BIND and Apache vhosts to this IP?

I was provided with an IP and a subnet mask by the tech person

Any insight would GREATLY be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Travis

Are you using any control panel? What OS are you using?

    Hello Travis,

Proceed through the following way, this is the way you can add a new IP address using webmin:

Webmin -> Networking -> Network Configuration -> Network Interfaces -> click on 'eth0' under 'Interfaces Activated at Boot Time' -> click the 'Add virtual interface' -> Fill in the details, hit 'Create and Apply'.

    Details are:
    - Name: eth0:[0]
    - IP Address: [...fill in...]
    - Netmask: [...fill in...]
    - Broadcast: [fill in with the new IP address]
    - MTU: ...leave blank, or put in 1500 (same as eth0).

    Good Luck.
    Regards
