Wordpress Design Advice

I made a Wordpress design and I'd like some suggestions and comments.

IMHO the design is nice and simple, yet too light.

The text needs to be possibly a shade of grey darker. The light text combined with all the other light colors (background) makes it look a bit washed out.

It's a good starting point (needs some graphics to spruce it up), but I do agree with Jared about the text - it needs to be darker. I'd probably also tone the green background a notch or two as well - unusually bright (almost neon-like) colors tend to hurt the eyes, hindering the usability of the site.

 

I agree with it looking washed out. Give your headers a darker green shade and make the Grey just a bit darker. I'm also a fan of Gradients myself. You could maybe add a bit darker shade of green at the top of your background and make it fade about 100px to the color you have now? Just an idea. Anyways, great start!

 

I don't think a gradient would be appropriate here, unless used as a background for a heading element. But to do that, you'd want to put some borders around the content that the headings would be related to (I'm talking about the sidebars here) which would require separating the sidebar from the content visually. Done right, it can look visually stunning.

It is very simple, which I like for blogs, however it should have a little more depth. If you added in a simple logo at the top rather than just text it would look a lot better. Let me know if you need help.

I like it (apples are good)...

I'd like to an image in the header -- obviously apple related.
Perhaps try more bold colours for headers.
I personally prefer a smaller main font, but that's just a personal thing.

The layout is very common amongst blog designs, but that's because it works well. I think it could do with a few images to brighten it up a little, and make it a little more attractive (such as a banner/header). Actually, some sort of apple graphic would be good for the header.

I actually think the text colour is ok, but for accessibility reasons, you maybe should darken it ever so slightly.
