I think those members with a cetain amount of negative itrade's should be banned...
one or two negative itrade's can't prove he/she is a scammer, but what about those with 10,15 or even more??

Those members should be banned FOREVER!!!

Yes they should be... Getting a positive iTrader is VERY EASY, you get it by offering something free, trade some useless stuff.. and its easy to get 30+ itrders per month and many are doing that.

But if someone's giving you a negative, they know they will get back negative and onle will give if they feel you are a scammer. So negative rating as a seller is NO. and if somehas has more than 5+ negative as a seller then he must be banned!!

There can be bad buyers too; some one buys from you and files a charge back through paypal, or you find that paypal freezes the payment because it was a bogus or stolen credit card.

I agree that members that have negative reputation or itrader should be banned but then some members are attacked by low life's who give them negative reputation and itrader when it wasn't deserved.

Post your suggestions, but it isnt going to be implemented.

Like say a thread 1111 was to deal between A(Seller) and B(Buyer)

A takes money from B and doesnt deliver the product

B complains that he was scammed and gives -1 iTrader.
But A tells that he wasnt paid and gives B -1 iTrader as well.

Now whom would you go with?

If you start banning people for having negative iTrader points it kind of defeats the purpose of having the iTrader points there in the first place.

It is a bit like with the rep points... if nobody can have red rep, then what is the green rep a measure of? You need to be able to measure good as well as evil. School is different as we tend to rate just how good we do in exams, but out here we want to measure both good and evil behaviour, both positives and negatives.

The iTrader points are meant to guide us all by way of giving us an opportunity to read comments from other traders about any given (potential) business associate.

The responsibility to read these and determine weather or not you want to make business transactions with this person must lie with your self. Otherwise we don't really need the system... just banning people after they get a few mod reports of bad behaviour would do it.

I believe the iTrader system is good as it is. It can help you deciding whom to trust, it cannot be trusted to decide for you.

there is a big difference between having a - rating and having had a - itrader applied to you.

do you ban people from ebay when they get negative feedback?

if you have a negative rating then yes but if you have had some bad experiences ? i dont think so.

there should be a mod in control of this process who judges who is a dodgy idiot and who is an honest trader with bad luck

I don't think they should be. I think iTraders are for people to evaluate if they will transact with a certain member or not.

It's every member's responsibility to look for himself.

I think they should not be banned. iTraders are implemented so that a person can get some info about the other person, whether he should be trusted or not.. through iTraders.
In the end, it all depends on you whether you will trust a guy with 10-15 negative itraders or not.. No one is forcing you to compulsarily do business with such kind of a person.

So my vote is "No" :)

    Best Regards,
    Kulwinder.

Yes, I agree. Well of course it happens that something goes wrong sometimes and a member gets a negative iTrader, but 10 is way too many.

    Too many for what?

I'd like to quote one more for clarity:

The system is made for us to use to help each other grade one another with a personal opinion - not for the unpopular to be thrown out of Dodge City!

Katy, if you think 10 negative iTrader points are way too many, don't do business with that individual.

    It's that simple.

Is that you who didn't get me or is that me who didn't get you...

I said I think it's okay if a user has a few negative iTraders, but if a user has 10-15 negative iTraders (like Richie_Ni mentioned) he/she should definitely be banned. Hope I'm clear now...

Btw, this is a poll, I didn't do any business with anyone..
