I wish to buy links to enhance my number of backlinks, my Allinanchor text and my site PR. The advert I'm looking at offers: my text link on 18 PR6(homepage included) and 1200 PR5 pages. The pages are all on the same under the same domain. Can anyone quantify how much benefit this will get me, bearing in mind that it's all under the same domain? Thanks
One link? Then how does one explain the following? 15 PR4 links from one site, to a new one page site, which is now PR5.
It depends on what they mean by "benefit". For PageRank, they are all counted. For anchor text link popularity, there are definitely diminishing returns for links within a single domain. Although I would argue it doesn't diminish to no value on the 2nd link, my best guess (that's all it is) would be 5 links have full (or near full) value, diminishing from there down to no value at around 60 or 70.
So Shawn, you think I would get roughly 5 google back links from this manouvre. (I'm not all that fussed about possible PR gain. It's the backlinks I'm after.)
No idea exactly how many... Google will report a lot, but no idea how many of those go towards ranking.
google may show all the links as BL after sometime. But i feel all the pages have some share in improving the SERP. I have noticed that most of the top ranking sites are having hundreds and even thousand of back links from same site with same Anchor Text.
You will definitely get more than just one link counted - but multiple links from the same domain can expect to be devalued to some degree. It is more ideal to seek links spread about multiple IP blocks - which for most intents and purposes, means it's probably far more useful to buy links from multiple sites, than just one. However, the links won't hurt you, and should carry various benefits - just make suer you get the anchor text well chosen, as the anchor text benefits can be particularly acute.
For the money you will spend I don't believe you will get the serp response you are hoping for. Who cares how many links g reports or what your pr comes out at. You want to get to the top of your search results right? Not have the most pr or be #1 for allinanchor search. Look to the sites which turn up in your search results and get links from as many of them as possible and spend your money in that 'district.' search for articles on 'local rank' 'topic sensitive pagerank' 'hilltop' and 'links from the same c' and read them.
