    Guys...
If you try a method and got results/tests in your hands, then you can talk if it works or not.

Simply, opinions are just words but facts are better. Isn't it a true thing?

IMHO, the term is new but the idea and practice in it - not at all. "Bum marketing" - name it as you wish but I'd prefer to call it simply article submission. As for the latter, yes it works to some extent, for some niches, and I would add - it is definitely not one of those favorite marketing approaches currently.

That god-awful e-book template and crap-tastic copywriting makes me want to scratch my eyes out.

How in the world can someone expect a marketing concept to be taken seriously by marketers (those of us here on this forum) when they offer it on that turd of a webpage? If the information were truely free, it would be offered on the web instead of requiring us to submit our email to the spam-factory.

USFreeAds still has good SEO; if you put ads up that match your articles, you will likely flood the top 10 on Google. I know this, because it's happened to me a number of times. It's good to use USFreeAds in conjunction with other marketing methods, not as a stand-alone.

Especially if your website name is catchy. We have a plethora of bums around here; bet it wouldn't take very much payment to get one of them to do this. :D

Bum marketing is effective but its not a get rich quick thing. You will have to be really patient and keen in your approach. Although it's not new, I believe its a great way to start off if you dont have a lot of money to invest in your business.

Is it safe to submit the same article to two different websites?

It's safe, but Google docks the website for duplicate content.

It is all about how many articles you can write, if you submit to high pr article directories then you have a nice link.

Travis took an old method added some marketing and made some money by creating a new name.

    Lord I love IM.

I would say this is one of the few lists i'm truly glad I signed up for, and emails I regularly read. Travis does a great job of providing information for free and by submitting your email you are making it easier to be kept updated. I don't think it matters too much about the copywriting as you aren't being asked to buy anything. Travis offers solid information and I'm beginning to get a few good results from what I've learnt from him.

I even appeared in one of his video demo's yesterday to my surprise, woo-hoo!

I'm a bit confused, you write an article on a non-competitive, but related keyword/phrase and then put it on article sites.

Is it the article site or your site that gets the good ranking? And why not just put the article on your own site? What am I missing here?

It's the individual page that your article is on that gets the good ranking.

Because Google indexes ezinearticles.com very frequently (as Travis puts it, it's in love with them) and has a tendency to rank their articles high for keywords. Hence if you submit an article there around the right keywords it will likely rank high for your keywords, if you did it right. In contrast, if you put the article on your own site, unless it has high page rank it probably won't rank anywhere near as high as it would if it was on a directory like ezinearticles.com

It is bum marketing because they want to market to the 90% of the people who are inherently lazy :D

Ok so lets see a screenshot of keywords that the article sites rank well for!!!

As far as I can see not a one is ever in the top 10 for keywords of any real value.

However http://www.usfreeads.com has sent me a great deal of targeted traffic across almost all of my sites.

Well worth the $9.99 per month investment.

One of the biggest challenges of new startup companies or those new to the web is fear of the un-known. Most of the time you don’t have money but you do have time. Bum marketing provides a road map to utilize your time to get the most out of it.

What's the road map to article marketing???

This kind of stuff is the exact reason the start up businesses have fear to begin with....

Some guy decided to repackage article marketing and call it bum marketing..

    Definitely a bum's idea

From the looks of the definitions there is nothing worthwhile in the pursuit of laziness,
