Im new to web site building but want to know if Dreamweaver is the best software for creating slightly complex websites, with simple but animated toolbars, little animations, sound clips etc?

    thx

I think the best software for creating websites is notepad :) I never use any software except a text editor. I like to create pages from scratch and be of full control of every piece of code written in it

Yeap Dreamwaver 8 is stunning. With rich css support, u can even visualise how the css properties are adopted to your site design and which property dominates a visual element. its cool.

After many years coding with DW MX, just yesterday I received the upgrade to DW 8. Wow, a much better product especially with respect to CSS support.

I'm also using DW 8, and I think it's terrific, especially the collapsable code option :)

It's so happened that I've been using Microsoft FrontPage since the day of yore. I must say the results were decent. Not a question which one is better. It's more like which one has accustomed to.

For example, I'm still using the humongous Adobe Photoshop even for simple graphic editing. Because I know where all the toolbars are and what are the shortcut keys.
