For reducing memory usage this tweak seems to work for many as well as me:

    1. Open Firefox and go to the Address Bar. Type in about:config and then press Enter.
    2. Right Click in the page and select New -> Boolean.
    3. In the box that pops up enter config.trim_on_minimize. Press Enter.
    4. Now select True and then press Enter.
    5. Restart Firefox.

Its worth a try... I had got it of some website.. don't remember which one though.. It sends the FF data to the HDD when FF is minimized and the usage reduces significantly when the screen is restored.. you could see an improvement of 10-60mb.

Btw... I use only FF primarily and use others to check website designs... Hate IE for how brilliantly it can screw designs up..

And worship FF thanks to plugins such as Firebug...

    Hope the info helps...

    Cheers!!!

I think firefox is the best option.I will always use firefox .It has one advantage that IE does not have .Like it has tab browsing.

Well, actually new IE7 has tab browsing integrated, and that's not why Firefox is better. The best advantages re:

    1. Firefox Extensions
    2. Firefox Security
    3. Firefox Speed
    4. Firefox Page Render System
    5. It's not Microsoft :)

Good! I hope its sooner then later :D

IE7 has improved so much since IE6 nevermind older browsers so having IE8 will provide an even better browsing experience.

I also have firefox but i dont like the fact it uses alot of memory which is why i prefer IE maybe if IE8 has a couple of extras that firefox has over IE7 at the moment then i can see alot of webmasters etc converting back to IE :D

What i would like to see: A forced upgrade for all IE users even though im an IE user i upgrade to the latest version all the time so this wont really bother me! This means that there is only 1 ie platform to be used which is easier for webmasters etc to do instead of having to test it on many ie platforms! Just makes it easier on web designers/master :D

I quite like Explorer because I have a habit of right clicking to save links to the desktop instead of 'favourites' which gets to big and unmanagable.

However, Firefox gets cools tools like TAW it to validate accessibility. It also lets you look at .php pages offline - IE7, like all IE versions spits out the dummy at anything .php. Pttt!

I'm happy with Firefox, but I've also heard LOTS of things about firefox, like the company intentionally makes viruses to target the IE browser and other browsers, but if u use firefox ur unaffected :S, not sure if its true, but the things companys do to get popular :/, not surprising, anyway I'm still using firefox i personally haven't had any trouble with it.

Firefox 2.0 is much more comfortable than IE7.0
I don't think this will change with the release of IE8.0

    good words seem from me,agreed,

i am using IE7 and FF2 on win and solais 10 respectively,
IE7 seem not bad and function smoothly,
another storm of pain seem coming as IE8 closer to be released.
same feel , do you have a good or bad dream?:D:D:D
