Whats your view on interracial marriages and offspring?

I have a couple dress shirts but just in case, hawaian shirts, shorts and flip flops is more my style

 

i think it doesnt matter what race or religion you are or want to be with. if you want to be with someone thats not of ur race or religion, go for it. so what.

only in these closed minded societies does this still exist.

I don't know. Otherwise everyone will be mishmash of races. At the moment there is still clear lines of races with pockets of concentrated subraces (mixed people) found in certain corners of the world.

 

What would be wrong with one race, I guess if the whole world mixed and everyone was the same color, it would be something like light brown.

I don't know.. the idea of one race seems exciting! Well actually it would be cooler if we were all mixed.. from 5 different nationalities.. so we all look unique.

I wish I was born mixed to the mix-iest! I'm not mixed enough

 

The world is sure a lot more exciting as it is. If we were all one race it would be pretty dull.

 

I agree on the dull.. I guess? If we looked all the same. It would be better if we ALL looked different (less discrimination?)

 

Actually more problems occur between similar people. Hutu's killing Tutsis, Serbs and Croats, northern Sudanese attacking southern and western Sudanese, Arabs attacking Jews, Germans and Japanese attacking all their neighbors in WWII.

The race would never grow dull, you'd still have the genetic material to produce tall and short, wide and narrow, pretty and...not so pretty, smart and people banned from Adsense.

 

Okay... good point there... I mean of course it wouldn't elminate the problem... but just maybe a little bit? Ah humans can be sooo sometimes.

 

But you can always mix and then your kids will be.

I do think the world would be boring and dull though if everyone had the same hair and skin color. The world already has about 90-95% black hair.

I like some diversity in looks (without having to artificially change hair/eye/skin color).....

 

Probably most people would be light brown if everbody mixed, but there still would be diversity. Say a man and woman couple has black hair, but one of their parents had blonde hair, the couple would still have the gene to produce children with blonde hair.

At the current rate of mixed marriages it would take thousands of years for everybody to be the same colour. I don't actually see that as being such a bad thing.

You could say the same about ugly short people with low IQs, Would you be prepared to 'take one for the team' as it were and assure the survival of these people?

But on a serious note, I don't see any reason at all why there is the slightest problem with mixed-race marriages or anything like that... I don't personally think that it should make enough of a difference to even worry about...

Someone earlier in this thread that it was not as common for someone to marry a person of a different race than of their own. Can you wonder why? With people being so racist, we are lucky that there are any interracial marriages!!!

People should quite simply live and let live in my opinion... Who are we to judge someone elses actions? Futhermore, I doubt the world could ever become one race... People's race and indeed their skin colour is more a factor of evolution, in that (and I don't want to sound racist here) black people tend to have orriginated from places that are more sunny, such as the carribean and this is because of the melanin being more present, due to the effect of the rays of the sun, so it is unlikely we will all just merge...

However, being pro-race can be a good thing, however the important thing to remember is that if you view your race as being above others, you are at the start of the same road walked by people like Hitler, who whilst I'm sure was a charming guy spent his days murdering people relentlessly, because they were a different race, religion or sexuality. Many people fought and died for the right for people to be free and able to choose whether they want to have an interracial marriage, for anyone to sit there and say people shouldn't be able to is, kind of just laughing at the people who died...

The irony in that statement is that "laundromats" used to be... We've come a long way in a short time in our 200+ year history IMO.
