This is round two of what John started in a thread previously

As directory owners we are divided on the issue of an annual listings or a permanent listing and will always be

Lets see from the prospective of a directory submittor to see which on is more lucrative

So i choose Chris (dont hate me for this Cris)

Now the scenario is as such, you can Afford JUST ONE LISTING.

So its either http://www.alivedirectory.com/ or http://www.bigweblinks.com/

Highly promoted, equally competitve directories, second to none

Just that alive is offering a yearly listing and BWL is offering a permanent listing

As a directory submittor, SEO enthusiast, why directory would you choose to submit your links ?

p.s.you can Afford JUST ONE LISTING.
I might use your thought and suggestion on my blog

If the option comes for these 2 directories, then obviously everybody would go with BWL....

I believe the best solution would be to have featured as annual, and all other options as permanent.

You are looking for opinion on 2 directories which have same authority - Big directories..

If you have given 2 options - alivedirectory and ***directory, then i would choose alivedirectory here :)

I am thinking on moving on Velocity's suggestion :)

I think it depends on the individual directory owners. These days I am obsessed with authority sites:eek:. I don't know how --but there is something weird that I am always looking for something --to know something. ATM --I am trying to figure out if a PR8 link is better ( site not authority) or a PR6 authority link is better.

I think the PR6 link is better --but not sure.

So there is huge difference between a link from Alive and other PR6 directories ( in my very personal view). -I think Aviva has same strength as Alive and will soon get Authority status. So their yearly listing is justified while I have no comments about others.

I put off alive yesterday to work on BAMS. :p (just so ya know)
I have to do something on one of Choice's directories and then I'll be onto Alive.

I'll let Chris say what needs to be said about it ;)

I think from submitters point of view 'permanent' is best option but from directory owner's point of view 'annual' is more better.

Reason: Annual submissions would earn more revenue + that directory will contain only well audited websites.

If someone submit a site with 'permanent' option and then after couple of months he/she sell it or change the content or drop quality of their content then its hard for directories to continuously monitor thousands of sites for their quality but 'annual' listings have built in check ;)

I am amazing curious to know what made Chris change his mind

This is going to be a big hit for those who have justified yearly listing on the basis of alive

Personally i feel that Chris would benefit from it in the long run :D

    Way to go
