    Hi all,
Forgive me if this has been asked somewhere else, but I'm quite confused by it. At first I thought the problem was rounding, but it doesn't equate. Yesterday morning my earnings reported xxx number of impressions, which was correct, and 0 clicks. It said my earnings for today (content) was $0.06. I thought "hey maybe it's just delayed or something" and forgot about it until this morning. Checked yesterday's stats, and its still reporting me earning 6 cents for no clicks.

    Strange?

Think it is pay per impression rather than pay for click.

I seem to be getting the opposite, no clicks, no money, but the eCPM is showing a value. What does this mean? This is the second day it's happened since the new interface.

You probably made .0049 cents with CPM and it was rounded down ;)

Since when have they been doing this? I remember hearing a rumor about it but never realized they implemented it.

Google pays you for partial clicks. That is when a person is about to click on an ad but doesn't follow through (pro's call it ad yoyunking). Its all described quite clearly in the new Google TOS pages. In fact Google has gotten quite good at reading the minds of users. Try it, go to google, type in 'help' and click 'Im feeling lucky'. Google will offer up a page that will help you the most.

Can someone plz answer my questions:

    - Is an impression equivlent to a unique visitor to the site or a single hit?

    - Is it possible that a site receives 100,000 impressions in a month but very few click?

    Thanks...

ans 1) Impression is equal to the no. your ad units shown on your pages
eg: if you have 3 ad units on your page and your page got a single hit, impression wud be 3
ans2) yes it is very much possible if your ad placement is not well optimized.

I thought impression is number of page load, no matter how many ads you have on your page? Correct me if I'm wrong.

It's possible to have high page impression with low click. Other possibility are irrelavant ads caused by your contents that covers a very wide range of topics.

Will I earn money if my site receive 100,000 impressions but a few click? Is it something frown upon by Google? If thats so, any one can open his site and keep on clicking refresh to increase impressions? what do u say?

Normally your eCPM would be $0.00 if you don't get any clicks. But if you have 0 clicks but $x.xx value of eCPM, you are probably being paid for impressions.

Google has so many secrets anyway. We're still in the dark about which ad makes the most money :)

All publishers are automatically opted in to display CPM ads. CPM ads can be either image-based or text-based. CPM ads will compete against CPC ads at auction. Our technology will determine which ads hold the highest revenue potential for each page of your site and serve those accordingly. So, CPM ads will only show when they represent a greater revenue potential than CPC ads.

I recommend opting in to both text and image ads to open your site up to the greatest possible ad inventory. When more ads are competing to display on your site, it maximizes your revenue potential.

Its CPM from wat i see. I get xxxxx impresssions and have divided my acc. into various no. of channels so that i get proper information as on which page is earning me more. SOmetime i get xxxx impressions on somepages where there are no clicks still it shows me earnings of around 10 cents. So i presume ur case is similar to me. Google has got some CPM ads also.
