Am I the only person in this world who uses Ulead PhotoImpact?

It's not as complex as Photoshop, but it gets the work done, sometimes even better than Photoshop does. It's safe to say that you can produce any kind of graphic Photoshop is capable of, but through easier and simpler ways. You'll thank the Easy Pallettes.

    Finally!

You got that right, even a 10 years old can use it and produce graphics like a pro. I absolutely love it. Here are some of the artworks I did using Photo Impact, feel free to look at them.

I don't think Photo Impact got the attention it deserves.. :(

I bought this (V 11) and installed it. I have tried to use it but I just get frustrated with trying to figure it out. I feel like a real dummy here!

I have an OLD version of Print Shop Pro but it seems to do the basics for me.

I have the manual for PIP but it is just too much. Seeing as how I am a visual learner and not a reader...does anyone know of a video tutorial?

    Thanks.

Illustrator is primarily for vector and layout, Photoshop is for everthing else.

I use CS2 90% of the time, and am slowly coming to terms with CS3 - which so far looks like a waste of time and resources.
For print work I use InDesign, which I personally think is the best program Adobe have ever made.

Illustrator works in Path and creates vector images, meaning i can make my images bigger or smaller and stretch them any way i want, lose no quality at all. Where as illustrator is raster, and resizing anything in photoshop results in minor or major quality loss,

im also an photoimpact user switched over from ps in 1999 but now im starting to regret it because most people will always want the PSD file and how ps in some things is more powerfull :S anyway i got ps and Illustrator now and im starting to switch back to it very slowly!! its very frustrating.

i also agree photoimpact hasnt got enough attetion as it deserves thats because or all the high end graphic designers use ADOBE :(

you can see how photoimpact is almost as good http://picasaweb.google.com/solidnuts

I'm primarily a print designer right now, so InDesign is my best friend, followed closely by Illustrator and Photoshop, all CS2. Learning Flash and Dreamweaver now too.

Freehand used to be Illustrator's equal, but it's fallen behind, and I actually think it's obsolete, considering Adobe owns Macromedia now!

QuarkXpress is InDesign's only challenger, but they are famous (infamous?) for their poor customer service, and even their latest version pales in comparison, once you get used to the almost seamless interface among the Creative Suite apps.

Yeah, the monopoly kinda sucks, and it's expensive stuff, but it's a must-have.

That´s probably because you can´t do it with PS better.

Imo there´s no better software than Photoshop. I tried GIMP, you can work with it, but got not nearly the options as PS...same for other programs.

Watch designer companies, print companies...they all use Adobe products due to the quality.

    My list:

    Photoshop 7.0
    Photoshop CS2
    GIMP
    PAINT

I am a little old school so I love QuarkXprerss for layout and some image manipulation but most of the oldies but goodies have converted over to Indesign which is a great program too! For image manipulation Photoshop and Illustrator are still the two best. Fireworks is also great for the lazy! Not as down and dirty as Photoshop but a bit easier to manipulate for simple stuff.

    Just my two sense :)
