I think AWSTATS provides that, or was it webalizer. It's not totally accurate. If someone comes to your site without a referrer then it is *probably* a bookmark.

For the past 5 days on average here are my stats:-
    ------------------
    5 clicks per day :(
    0 unique visitor :(
    ------------------

I guess I am the only one who is visiting my site :) forget about anyone clicking on google ads :D

I seriously have to work on my site. My aim is to earn USD $3/day by the end of this year.

Awstats appears to provide its number based upon how many hits are placed on the favicon.ico file (or lack thereof.) The number it shows is the total number of visitors who have bookmarked your website (even though they may not have clicked on the bookmark to get to your site in that instance) and as mentioned by others here, it's not completely reliable. It does however give you an idea of your return visitors.

Placing a "bookmark this site" script is a good start. But you have to give the user some reason to want to come back.

I get 60-65% of my traffic from return visitors and direct clicks (no referrals recorded).

That is a great idea thanks.... I never have placed a 'bookmark this site' option on any of my websites or pages. I just took it for granted that everyone just clicked on 'favorites' then 'Add to favorites' in IE or whatever their browser is. But I guess many more folks would bookmark it, if there was something telling them they should ?

    Google with 15947 referrals
    AOL with 863 referrals
    MSN with 649 referrals
    Yahoo with 139 referrals

On average my sites receive around 3,500 uniques a month currently, but I trade websites a lot, so ask me this question a different day and the number might multiply by 10 :D. Traffic comes mainly from search engines, bookmarks, and links from other sites (in that order).

My site gets 85,000 hits per month and around 5,000 unique, but I guess a big portion of that is from spiders and bots.

Someone mentioned favicons, My experience shows a measurable increase of return visitors once I created a favicon. When your web site is bookmaked a creative favicon will make your link stand out. Here is a great place to make favicons from pictures really easy.

My biggest site gets 2-3K uniques a day. However, this is not one of my bigger income earners.

It may be obvious, but it should be mentioned that big traffic doesn't necessarily translate into big $-targeted quality traffic beats quantity. I'd rather have 200 visitors looking for mortage quotes that 2000 looking for free Pamela Anderson videos, for example.
