it will not help you to get better serp because analitics only counts your hits. it will not effect the seo

 

Google analytics will help you a lot to keep records of sites ranking and total traffic of the website.

The only bad thing about it is that it is javascript and some people block javascript and you get the wrong results...

it is just sats program that will track from where your traffic is comming.By detail stats u can optimize your content and improve serps

 

yes Google analytics is a very good programme

 

Agree, Analytics is a good program, but as Angelus mention, the java script can be blocked by the visitor.

I have no doubt for that! But it doenst work for SEO.
Few things needed when you do SEO:
- is your page get index by spider, how frequent
- after do SEO, doest the spider come and go or keep visiting

google analytics shows your website stats, that includes your daily traffics, where did it came from, what keywords gives you traffic,, and many more.... as supasharp said,, it is your best friend!

 

I wish they would make direct links to the referring sites though. Any opinions why they haven't done that? It was the first thing I looked for when they rolled out the update.

a) Keep visitor count, referrer source, time of visit , bounce rate, entrance pages, exit pages, geographic segmentation of traffic and other traffic related data

b) Keep track of search engine referrers, keywords that send traffic, keywords that convert, page views from keywords and other SEO data

Interestingly, I installed analytics on one of my sites and went from #3 where I had been for 3 months to #1 for my main key word. Could it be Analytics? or the fact that I made a change to all of those pages and Google likes change? Not sure.

 

Analytics has got nothing to do with rankings of ur site.. it's just an analytical tool like many other.. The change in rankings might be because u made some changes in the page
