Ok alot of people ask me , how did you get your blog from a traffic less site to the booming site it is today well I will tell you how. Step one choose a good design for your site , this is a very important as when people visit your site they won't stay if your site doesn't stand out and also is easy to navigate , to encourage people to browse your site. Once you have your site design all up and running next you start the marketing plan. Write three or four decent articles for your site on your selected topic , make sure you take time to write indepth and well written articles. Ok now you have the articles digg them, stumble them and add them to every social networking site possible, this will bring an intial surge of traffic to your website to get you started , will also give you some subscribers if you have a blog. After that you will need to get constant flowing traffic , so work on submitting to article directories you can find a huge list on my blog. Then visit as many directories as possible submit your link to them to give you some backlinks to your site to give you some decent PR ratings. Another good thing to do is comment on as many blogs as possible and leave your link in the comment that will bring in alot of constant traffic also. Ok that should get you started in getting traffic.
Very good tips - the design, I think, is more important than many IMers will admit. Another thing that I find important is being able to read the type. Now, for people (ahem) younger, it may not seem important. But no doubt, the effects of reading on a computer will eventually effect people's eyesight...and even with good eyesight - some of the sites with faded grey type, or... gasp... flashing purple against black... Might appeal to some, but I just click away. Lynne
Good information, I have the design down, I just need new articles. Can you submit articles that aren't written specifically by you. I have articles on my site but I copied over the copyright information so I don't get in trouble.
Thanks for sharing. One point worth mentioning is that it's probably a better idea to perform the marketing plan BEFORE you make the website. This way, if you discover that whatever you are doing initially is unprofitable, you can always steer to a new course quickly.
That is so true, the design is crucial thing (maybe not for keeping your visitors on your site, but certainly would help not making them go away)
good guide for beginner but still need more explanations. for people who would like to know deeper info, search around forum by his keywords you will find tons.
