"ads by google" vs. "ads by goooooogle"

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by tlainevool, Sep 14, 2005.

I have heard three theories on this board recently about why "ads by google" would show rather than "ads by goooooogle":

    1) "Ads by Google" shows when the page has not been crawled by the AdSense spiders
    2) "Ads by Google" shows when you are a premium publisher
    3) "Ads by Google" shows when it's a CPM ad.

Does anybody have a definitive answer? (Preferably with a pointer to a reliable source.)

It's random to simply "mix things up".

There is no relation to the type of ad. Google was doing some testing, I am not sure what it was suppose to be. Could it be they were trying to attrach attention to the ad in a way. I am not sure though, google didn't give a solid explanation except saying it's for 'testing'

I never did figure out a pattern of any kind so I agree that it is completely random or some test that we will never know about...

Image Ads or Ads on websites of premium Adsense publishers will always say "Ads by Google"

That's right. But I, being a non-premium :)p ) publisher, also get those simple "Ads by Google" strings with the ads sometimes... So that's not the full explanation. There is more to it.

    1) "Ads by Google" shows when the page has not been crawled by the AdSense spiders

    and

    2) "Ads by Google" shows when you are a premium publisher

There you go, you have another person saying no!

Well, how does it matter whether it is Google or Gooooooooooogle?

I personally feel better when it is just Google on my sites. I feel important  Dunno why

I think some premium members do not get "Ad by Google". one example is www.winsite.com .

What is the beta testing with goooooooogle actually about?

Is it about attracting attention? If it is that, yes, it does attract attention.

I always thought Google was before mediabot came and Gooooogle was when the page was spidered.

    Seems I was mistaken.

It's all random. There's no specific examples you can give to argue either case.

I was thinking it might be an infection. But now I believe that is totally random as I get Ads by google and ads by goooooogle on the same page.
