List of the most popular article directories?

I'm looking to submit articles to article sites, but can't seem to find any good list. Can someone suggest to me some good article directories? Can someone also point me to a list of article directories where I can submit them to? Supposedly good pagerank and traffic wanted =)

I only know of the ones on the top of google, such as ArticleDashboard and ArticlePros.

I have submitted articles to many many different directories over the past year and in my experience there have only been two article directories that have given me significant traffic.
Ezine Articles http://www.ezinearticles.com
and
California Chronicle http://www.californiachronicle.com

 

Never heard of California Chronicle, I"ll have to check that one out.

 

The Chronicle has been really good for me. I keep a close eye on my stats and I get about 10 times the traffic from them as I do from Ezine Articles. I have rarely ever seen any traffic from the 'well known' directories like Article Dashboard, Go, etc

 

E-Topic.com is very nice and it's strong PR6

I submitted articles to E Topic back in February - The status is Still pending. I dont know for sure, but I suspect you can only get your article published there if you pay.

 

Yes, or they publish your article if it's unique and if you don't submit it in any other article directory.Just to stay out of supplimental hell.

Not sure which are popular since I don't submit many articles anymore (lack of time on my part, not a lack of effectiveness on theirs!)

 

Never heard of California Chronicle, but I would have to test and see I guess. Thanks for sharing it

 

The California Chronicle isnt like most other article directories. You have to actually email them to request an author account.

Also, does anyone know if it's worth it to get a semi-automatic article submission program? It basically submits your articles to over 300 directories one at a time. Any suggestions concerning this?

I do this with press releases. I use an automatic submitter to do all of the little sites and then Hand submit to the larger sites that I want to make sure are done right.

 

Hmmm... which program do you use? Or, which program do you suggest I use?

 

For press releases I use Press Equalizer, I have an affiliate link on this page http://www.topwebsitetips.com/PressReleases.aspx along with a bunch of press release site, many of them I hand submit.

I'm even lazyer with Article submission, I have two DP writters that I use for that, They submit to a bunch of sites and I hand submit to the major Article sites, ezine and 7-10 others so I don't have an auto submitter for Article directories

 

Oh, I see. Yeah, I'm not really looking for press release stuff, just article stuff.
