Ive come across a great idea, but Ive no clue how you can make it work..

If DP can pull this off then these forums would have less spam..

Let me tell you my ideas, and Then I want to hear what you think!:)

When A person registers at DP forums.. Al they have to do Is click a little check box and then they`re through with saying they read the rules and everything.. some people don't even read them. What I think DP should do is have a sound system that has a recorded or digital voice or something like that.. that actually speaks out loud to the user that is registering.. The recording wont start until the volume is up to a desired volume..

There could be certain guidelines also.. For example.

You may not post on the forums unless youve listened to all rules and guidlines of the forum..

ah oh well this is just my imagination, but I do think it can work..

    Tell me what you think..:D

looks like a cool idea to me.

but people who don't read, may not listen as well.

or let it go and come back later and finish the signup if you force them to listen.

Spammers know that they're breaking the rules to begin with, so it won't really matter.

But it can also go th other way also.

If some users have no bad intentions then I don't see why they wouldn't listen to the rules and guidelines..

this idea isn't just for spammers, but for loyal and legit members also.

You could set up a obstacle course flash game where new registrations have to jump through 31 hoops to get in.

Well, I dont agree with this but I do agree that we must have a timer at registration page.

Say that while we click register, the timer starts for 90 seconds or 120 or whatsoever. User will not be allowed to proceed further untill he passes that time. And I guess, most of them would do that by reading the rulez...

    :D:D:D:eek:

Certainly a good idea that people should confirm they've read the rules although, I suspect, a lot of people will just check the box and not bother - that's normally what I do! It's also going to take quite a bit of programming to have an audible prompt play only when the speaker volume is high enough - that's impossible to do!

Well almost 95% people read those rules and just go on register page. I agree that we have to make a new way of register a new account. Sound looks cool.:)

i think it is a nice idea, perhaps all terms and conditions should have a voice system, that could read it out loud!
we never read the faqs and terms, but then we can sit back and listen to it, good idea IMHO:)

Audio playback system will need a hell lot of time of coding to implement, plus a 100 plugins....
Better to put a short, objective type quiz, related to DP forum rules and FAQ. user must finish and obtain a certain %age in order to complete the registration.... (But anything like this will drive people away)

I say make each of the rules have a checkbox to click. That way there is a better chance they will read at least most of the rules while they are clicking the boxes.

I keep my sound off in most cases too.

Even I dint when I did registered...but still I got infractions totalling of 7 points..
