Are you going to pay me to be an editor or am I going to pay you for being an editor?

    I'm confused.

I reckon real is part of the undercover DMOZ fraud squad and trying to weed out unscrupulous editors on the game.

I would understand that many hate DMOZ editors... But why to think in the first place that they would be that stupid?

It's like in the real world. If there is a corruption, it's not that they have a stall setup and big billboards advertising it averywhere.

If there is something going on, it is either in favor of their good friends, or in favor of editors themselves.

This way of forum enquiries can only uncover a small fish, someone so stupid and poor to jump on such an offer.

It would be cool, though, to be able to pay someone to get listed and forget about all the fuss.

I have trouble beliving anyone hoping to get into DMOZ would be that insulting. If I were a DMOZ editor would want to black ball, regardless of the quality of your sight, you for such a comment.

hey i have a site that is the leader in its market and has been around 5 years. it places number one for almost all of its keywords and then some. and i have been trying to get into dmoz with the site for about a year now. i have watched other "lesser" sites get in and they are just affilate sites, some even sell my product!!! plus these other sites havent even been around as long.

its really frustrating that DMOZ seems to be slightly corrupt. how else could the above be happening? so is it really a insult to come right out and ask?

"something is impossible only until you try"

Good on ya, anything is worth a try with DMOZ! There was a good thread a while back about DMOZ and 'corruption', will leave it at that - I got a red rep for certain insinuations last time :D

Its a shame from DMOZ's point of view that webmasters have to resort to this sort of thing but hey, anything is worth a try! Let us know if it works!

DMOZ is still around? all kidding aside why instead of begging to get into this dinosaur don't webmasters say F you all together and move on?

In the beginning I liked dmoz, benefited from dmoz, etc but now I'm sorry to say it's a joke for the most part, nothing more. The design, the failed searches, errors, no submissions being put in reguardless of the quality and the list goes on. I'd rather they charged $10 or so and at least get some work done, then be free and always appear to be down or never list a site.

I also in the beginning got several sites in, now with unique sites selling their own brand products 'unique as you get', and in very good quality compared to many can not seam to get a site listed or a responce at all. I have all but given up on dmoz and suggest others do to, there are other ways to get around things without even taking this dinosaur into consideration.
