One of my friend wants to send money to India. But why the hell didn't they accept the transfer (Transaction Cancellation Pending)??? They didn't even call for the verification.

    Any help.

    thanks.

There may be various reasons some of them may be :
    1. The Paypal user Name registered is differnt from your bankaccount
    2. Paypal user details and Xoom User mismatch
    3. Huge Transaction from unverified account (Their risk management team disallowed the Trans)
    4. Your Bank has not authorised inward payments (Highly Impossible excepting in some rar cases)

    The likely posibilities are 1 & 2
Thanks do let me know if I canm help!

That is bad. Let me know if its his first time using Xoom or did he try sending it before too ?

    Paypal user name and Xoom name can be different. It doesnt matter. I have a different name on my paypal and on my bank account but i;m still able to send the money.;

The amount will not make the difference. He can only send at the max $1000 at a time.

Here is what i think you should do.

    1. Find out if its his first transaction or not.
    2. Check and make sure paypal account is verified.
    3. While filling up for Xoom form make sure the name you mention here is the name on your bank account and the details you give like Phone number preferably be a landline number.
    4. The utility bill which paypal asks should be showing your complete address and not half.
    5. Its good to show the photo id proof as Passport or PANH card.

Please carry out these steps and let us all know if they called you or sent you an email for verification or not ?

The Verification part is the one which is in doubt!
Basically my earlier Trans where the names where names were different was rejected and I was not asked any IDentification. But After confirmed the ID with the Bank account things are smooth.
I assume this different ID is valid for Pickups only and for Bank Trans it has to be the same or you need to verify yourself upfront else you Trans might rejected.
    Just for your information!...Thanks

one of the reason why xoom deny some sending funds is that the point of origin and the destination of account (in country) is the same. That at least is based on my experience.

You cannot same same country to same country. This isnt allowed in Xoom.

This is the reason why they cancelled.

I have experienced that cancellation also,I called up the Verification Team in California and they told me the reason was that they were not able to verify with the sender,so I instructed the sender to call up Xoom and things work out fine..

That's allowed, as long as you're not sending money from yourself to yourself, I think. It's worked 4 times for me.

I think the reason why it was cancelled is because the delivery method was "Pick Up". That's illegal according to Paypal.

Or the reason might be that the funds were chargeback funds that were still under investigation by PayPal... ?

Don't worry. They will definately credited back to your paypal if they cancell your transaction IMO.

My Bro had used his Indian-Verified account having same billing address as my(reception) address. I think that would be the reason. Is It?
