So how's everyone doing? I'm mega happy I just got 83 page impressions for this month. I know, I know, I've read your post, and that pretty much sucks, right? I just started recently with adsense, and making this money of a "made-up" blog. I'm a writer, so I know how to entertain people . I'm planning to open like 10 more blogs, and see how that goes, because I don't know much about web pages. Is anyone else just using blogs? I have 83 page impressions so far, but no $$$, why? Do I need clicks to get paid. And how come my adsense words on my page aren't relevant to my post. It's talking about free blogs, and hurrican Katrina. What's going on? Thanx ----- Post #2
I can feel your ethusiasm. Last month I got ~1500 uniques which still sucks but I'm gaining more and more readership And yes, you need adsense clicks to get paid...at least in most cases. But don#t click on your own ads. You'd be putting your account in jeopardy....
Unless an advertiser decides to target your site/blog for CPM ads. Then you can technically earn money without a single click
Creating spam blogs can get your AdSense account suspended. Google is starting to crack down on spamming. If you're creating spam blogs to generate traffic to your website, that's also a violation of AdSense policy. Just don't come here crying looking for sympathy when you get banned.
I don't understand why you think it's spamming, since I'll be updating all of these blogs daily, with worthwhile content. And about web pages, should I just get a geocities one, or what? Thanx.
Ahh.. ok... Sorry I assumed. I guess you'll be very busy with blogs. From what I've been told CTR on blogs tends to be pretty low. However if you've got good content you should do pretty good. I personally have about a dozen blogs bookmarked that I visit pretty much daily.
Whoever said blogs have low CTR, arguably any site can have a low CTR - its all about integration and creating a good topic // niche. In regards to your advertising being off-topic check out the post on jensense.com Section Targeting for AdSense allows you to ignore on-page content which may help improve your ad relevancy
If google isn't displaying relavent ads, make sure that Google has your pages in its engine. Best way to do this is search for your URL in google (i.e. search for "site:domainname.com"). On the adsense front, you need to care about 3 things: 1. Traffic - pure numbers of impressions. 2. Clickthru % - How many people click on your ads. 3. Ad Value - Which ads Google presents, and what they are worth. #3 is where most people drop the ball. There are keywords and keyphrases that Google has really high-dollar advertisers for... By using the right keywords (and using them in the right places, like your title tag, inside h1 tags, and a few tasteful repititions in your text content), you can do a LOT better. There's a pretty good search engine for keywords at http://www.iotaweb.org - it essentially allows you to search for your general topic (single word searches are best) and gives you a list of high dollar key phrases with high payouts... Some phrases are valued at $90 per click. Anyhoo, hope that helps! -ww
Do forums get better click through rates than blogs? I get tons of visitors to my forums, but the click through rate is pretty weak.
Its ok... I get 15,000 uniques a month with over 476,046 total page impressions and still not making a lot of money.
A blog with 450 ~ 500 daily unique gets only 2 ~ 3 clicks This is basically due to 'repeat visitors'. This must be the reason for poor cliks in forums also. Don't expect too much from Adsense if your site/blog/forum didn't get lot of first time visitors, esp from search engines.
