    Hello fellows.

Quick question: someone wants to pay me to display banners on my website. Is it against TOS?

I'm ALMOST POSITIVE that it isn't, but I rather be sure.

    Thanks everyone.

Just make sure those ads don't resemble AdSense ads, because that would be against the terms, even if they are not contextually targeted.

Jen, one question: I am using 3 adsense banners on a page. I also have one extra banner from an advertising network on top of the page. Sometimes that network runs out of advertisers and starts sending adsense banners as a default, so I end up with 3 adsense banners from me, and one from the network, would this be a problem?

Definitely a problem, publishers have been warned for doing this. It causes issues because it is above the number of ad units allowed, and because it also has the ad network's adsense publisher code, and you cannot run two publisher IDs on the same page during the same page view.

All of the ad networks I am aware of that run AdSense offer an "opt-out" option for AdSense, so that publishers don't have to worry about being in violation.

And as a side note, some advertisers run AdSense-lookalike ads (the most familiar ones being the recent Vontage ads) which would also put a publisher in violation, so you need to watch for those and disable them as needed.

Wow, this sure is scary, imagine loosing your account for something as dumb as this!

Thanks a lot for the heads up, I will email my network right now asking how can I disable those ads.

You're welcome :) Not sure if anyone would lose an account over this (well, unless you don't comply when they ask you to change it, lol), but most publishers I know don't want to rack up any warnings on their accounts either ;)

I think depending on what type of site is advertising, it might not be allowed.

    I decided to ask Google.

    This was the response.

My situation is that a person simply wants to pay me money so that I place a single image with a link to his website.

The image would be nowhere near the adsense banners and they don't look anything like them. But I don't think the guys over at Google understood that, so I elaborated on another email.

Let's wait to see what they say.

Definitely not against the TOS unless the ad also happens to be a giant flashing arrow pointing at your AdSense ads too ;)

Are we allowed to run adsense and display adult/casino ads on the same page?

I'm not "losing sleep", guys. Don't exagerate :p

I just rather be safe than sorry, you know what I mean?

And the vague email Google sent me didn't really clarify anything for me :(

I always thought it wouldn't be agaisn't the TOS, but it wouldn't hurt to ask...
