I'd rather have Yahoo remain as it is. I definitely wouldn't want Google to buy it, though.

That's not likely to happen anyway, though; GOOG would have to deal with the Justice Department first.

A partnership between MSN & Yahoo! has also been considered, and that's what I'd vote for.
    Not a full merger.

I am with Clive on this one. Google has a huge enough market share already and if Google was to buy Yahoo then then how many really choices for search would we have? The power that Google already asserts is too scary for me.

Microsoft for now, then the creators of Yahoo would go and invent their empire again. BUY ASK.com woo!

I used to use ask.com the most when I was in school for some reason.

It would be kinda superpower. IMHO if that ever happens, Microsoft will be out of business:D

    Stay as it is.

I think that Yahoo vs. Google vs. Live is good because the more competition the better all the others have to make their services :p

I cannot see the Synergy (1 + 1 = 3) if Microsoft and Yahoo merge. They are both large companies with different philosophies.

I'd rather Yahoo stay alone, just because it's nice having three top SEs, it would be weird if there were only two or something.

I'd honestly be very happy if they concentrated on creating a single search engine.
And make it a reliable one. What's the point in having tens of them anyway...

Nope .... Having three different Companies helps publishers and users to get most out of them.... a Single Company or Two will lead to domination of one of them.... I prefer 3 different companies than One big company. ;)

Well, I'm speaking from the end-user point of view. The surfer who needs to "google" for some information, and then needs to do his searches using more than one engine for best results. That's where I mentioned about a single search tool and about its reliability ;)
