Let's do a poll to see how many people would like to see the user names of banned members in the itrader turned red.

It would be less time consuming if the user names were red so that we could easily see if someone has been given fake itraders.

With all of the duplicate accounts cropping up it's hard to tell who is safe to deal with due to one or two users who are ruining it for everyone. If you were to click on an itrader to view information about someone and the list was 80% red from the users who had submitted feedback for him/her, it might make you take a look closer at that individual and who all of their itraders were coming from before entering into a business deal with them.

Yeah, I agree, would be a lot easier. :)

Btw, sometimes when I click on a red username it says I don't have permission to access the page. I mean the banned ones are brown, right, but what are the red ones?

Not so sure about this. It isn't a bad idea, but I'm not entirely in favour of it.

Some members who are banned aren't always banned for duplicate accounts. Infractions come into play, and most of them have a temporary ban. He/She might have been honest, and suppose someone who knows that the red guys are the guys who abuse the system might refuse to do business with him.

For ways to track fake Itraders down, you might see that most of the guys acquire it in a short period of time, and almost always from one particular thread. People have various methods, and what I suggested is simply one of the many available.

Wow 75 people have viewed this thread and only 11 people voted? Makes you wonder if people have any value in the itrader system. (or they have a long list of banned user id's in their own list and just don't want to vote no publicly)

I do not like to vote even on my own threads, so chances of me voting on someone else's thread are rare. I am thinking there are lots of such folks around here at dp ? But anyways if u bribe me i will vote :p

That’s a good idea, however banning can be for various reasons. If the iTrader was legit, why ignore it?

Well this is good point because sometimes member was banned because of bumping or other reason but his record was good in BST section.

I think it's a good idea in some way, but bad in other ways (which have all already been listed...)

like has been said already...the part that wouldn't seem that fair is the people that got banned for reasons (or even temp bans) for things that have nothing to do with B/S/T...

Well it wouldn't be an automatic "don't deal with someone who has a banned member in their itrader"

It would be more for new members who are offering services, if they have 5 itraders and they all say honest member, or good guy, if the names were all red, we would think twice about using his services, right?

I don't think someone who has a banned member in their list would be hurt by it if they are doing business legitimately on DP. One or two banned members in their list wouldn't detour me from doing business with them at all.

It's just another way for us to knock out the scammers and duplicate account members at the same time.

I think it will cut down on any itrader abuse going on currently.

Thanks everybody for your vote and comments on the subject.

    Mary

Some marking of some sort that makes them noticeable would be good. Great idea Mary!
