is spending 5 hours to submit to 150 free non reciprocal directories worth it? we are not even sure of the inclusion on the site. also will this help in getting Google crawl our site?
Sure they are, depending on the quality and content of the directories. Any additional exposure you get yourself from an SEO standpoint the better! You did submit to ours right 5 hours is not bad. Plus if you are taking the time to do this by hand, my guess is you are taking the time to find the best directories out there? Good luck. Keep it up!
There are some good ones and some not so good ones, see if they link to quality. I believe there are some good $10-$25 perma links out there.
I just have westhaven at http://www.directory-submission.net/ take care of it for me. Have seen an increase in backlinks from this. I view it more as SEO than a traffic builder.
Sumitting to web directories can always help getting your website into search engines, but most of all it can help your rankings. Some directories also got some traffic so that's also a good reason to submit your website to the directories. See my sig (Web Directory FAQ) for some tips in your journey submitting to web directories.
Oh Mia. that was lightning fast. I dint think even in my dreams that i will be getting a link back with in an hour of submission. now i am motivated. i thought directories take atleast 2 days. thanks mia. and i dont think of wasting some money to do directory submission when i have amble time to track down the best and submit them. but there ofcourse are great services out there. tuning's http://www.directorysubmission.net/ is the best as far i know. thanks for your views.
Yea directories are definetly worth it. read this article in my blog about directories and how they benifit your site. http://webmaster-newsletter.blogspot.com/ Hope this answers your question And submit your website to asmany websites as you can since any back link is a good link.
I think directories are worthless because google divides a website vote or link value by the number of outbound links thus making directories absolute
I think a good directory is worth it, the better ones provide links with PR and visitors so you can't really go wrong.
Make sure the directories are search engine friendly and give you a direct link. It surely helps! This list is helpful --> http://www.directoriezsubmission.com/free-web-directories.htm But, you can't rely on directories alone to get good rankings.
I used to do the submissions myself for all new customers' sites. Lately, I've gotten so busy that I've started using tuning's http://www.directorysubmission.net/ with good results. Yes, particularly for a new site, submitting to a number of good (PR>0 and contextually relevant) directories helps with SERP.
