    Both are oversellers..

I personally won't go to both of them. In that matter (even with a bit of overselling), hostgator is really good.

    Hello Fraser,

    Sorry for the late answer.

The database have been imported from the command line.

Because of the size of the database it might run slow and can be difficult to backup. For better performance it is recommended to reduce the number of rows.

Please mind it also against our terms to have proxies. Not that you have now, but i just saw your domain names.

    Kind regards,
    Allan, Servage Hosting

    Hello Fraser,

I'm pleased to inform you that you are now able to import large .sql files via the online file manager. Kindly first unzip your file and then a new link appear next to the file name: "import datbase".

When selecting the link you can select to which database you want the file imported to.

If you have problems importing the file you can upload it as SQL file and ask us to import it for you.

    Hope this helps you:)

    Kind regards,
    Jenny, Servage Hosting

My understanding is that their database server in on a different server than the web server and due to problems with both, 1 may be down and the other up, which can lead to some strange issues.

Older reviews for them were quite good, but more recently things are not looking so good.

I have no directly experience with them, but personally I would look elsewhere.

sorry for my late reply, I don't know if you already purchased other hosting.
I'm hosted with servage.net; and contrary to what was said above maybe, I'm quite happy with servage. Of course, they are overselling, but they are doing good, and uptime is great (in europe).
I didn't used support much, but when I used it, it was good, quick and friendly :)

Servage sucks. Good for small site...too worse for big sites. Servage has per hour bandwith restriction...that really sucks.....they r not giving wat they r showing. I was there..left with bitter experience. I was fade up with daily over load message. Host gatoor is best of the lot.

    moving out from dreamhost?? :D

the new host seem like bit risky to move to.
for that price range you can get a better hosting, eg. bluehost. where you get money back guarantee, 300GB, and live chat support help. and the remaining features seem like same.

for more budget, think hostmonster, 5.95/mth (if signup 2 year)

    good luck

I have used servage for over 2 years.

Based on the host I had before it works.

Based on 3rd party uptime check I average 98-100% uptime based on their tests.

I do like the fact that you will get a response in about an hour rather than 24 hr of my old host.
