Im looking to implement a (free or low cost) image gallery that uses PHP and MySQL.

In my own searching I found coppermine, but was looking for some suggestions from other DP members.

    Thanks

Well, I don't know what your definition of low cost is but PhotoPost is a good one. If you are looking for integration with a vBulletin forum, you may want to check out the gallery software at www.vbadvanced.com.

For 59 bucks I highly reccommend this one as it is fully intergratable into your existing design.

    http://www.comdevweb.com/photogallery.php

It also has bulk upload / auto resize/thumbnail with zip files wich is very handy.

I will recommend PhotoPost the best gallery software (can run individually as well integrate with popular forum software)
Note: Spider friendly URLs on our pages.

I have used coppermine, and gallery2. I prefer gallery2 - it just seems a little less clunky interface-wise. However Gallery2 is still at a release canidate version, so the documentation is not so good.

Idle speculation - Gallery2 has a brighter future. I do not know anything about the other package mentioned in this thread but I might check them out myself.

Thanks for the heads up...I think I will try Gallery2. I took a quick look at the site and features, and it seems that it will be officially released in a few weeks with some great features.

I spent the weekend playing with Gallery2 and think it offers amazing potential. I was especially pleased to see how active the forums were and how many contributors have already updated mods to work with the new version.

I've been using coppermine for a long time and I think it is pretty good. Does the job and all that but IMHO there is one negative side. Customizing the layout is a real pain in the butt. So I recommend everything else than Coppermine ;)

Wow, very nice! May I ask which phpBB portal you are using for your front page? I really like it. :)
