Review my logo, get +rep

This is my first time playing around with shine in Photoshop, I like the red but I'll probably modify it a bit before I come up with a finished product.

I would definitely want the '-' in between.

 

It's not bad. There are already too many logos exactly like this one. I suggest a different font.

 

I'm going to use ReadUp.com as my primary, Read-Up.com is just an alternative domain that I had before the non-dashed version became available.

 

Nice try. Play a bit more with Filters in Photoshop and you'll get something even better.

 

I would say that a good try. Have you vectorized it? That's very important if it's a logo.

And since your weburl contains "-", I would include it in the logo to, so that the users easier remembers it! You want them coming back, don't you?

Well its look good logo but you can still impove in your work to make more better for your website. I think you should add "-" in your logo because your URL have it.

 

To be very honest, It is really very simple & also the font needs to be changed, try some more variations..

 

It looks good on the site...But it is too simple..

You could give it some more bevelling/embossing...Put some texture inside the logo instead of the gradient !!

 

I liked the simplicity of it , the uppar part red , can be made a little lighter imho

 

Try adding a light, subtle gradient. Darker Red - A shade lighter red. Not red-white

 

Yeh having the - in the same graphics will make it better people like it when you have exact matches to what they are clicking on.

 

Very nice logo, try increasing the gap between the two words by about half an inch or less.

 

I like it! It's pretty nice Maybe the glow can be less bright on the upper part of the "U" (it's almost white).

Keagle and everyone else will have to wait (says I've given too much rep today). Thanks for the comment. I was thinking about making part of the "U" curl up into an arrow pointing up. I'll make sure everyone that participated gets the rep as promised. Even if it takes me a few days =)

 

It looks very nice indeed, I would add some nice dark black gradient lines to it though, to give it that extra effect. It also looks a bit plain with just text and maybe you could add a small book or something next to it.

Otherwise fantastic work mate, keep up the good stuff!

I'll agree with everyone else in that it is simple. However it is much better than many others that are hanging around on the net. I personally quite like it, however following the advice given by some other people in this thread, would make it better.
