Trying to make sense of all this ?

Ok, I am new to this and theres alot before I SEO my site and not sure I have the time based on what I see. Can someone give me a couple pointers to get me started in the right direction? Im getting virtually no traffic and getting more confused as to where to start.

i think you need a professional to SEO your website because you market is very competitive, but lucrative too.., so you may need to hire a SEO professional to rank you better for your desired keywords.

Choose the best keywords that you want to target. Keywords that are not too competitive but has high volume of search. Then create a content using your targeted keywords. Put also your keywords on the title and on the alt tags. Use your keywords as anchor text.

Get more links to get better rankings and also a source of traffic.

2. Directory submission
3. Article submission
4. Press release submission
5. Blogging
6. Joining social bookmarking site
7. Link exchange with related sites

 

So do I need to even SEO the site or just advertise it, I was thinking of doing both. Will I need a professional to do this ? or is it something I can just do myself ?

 

You need to optimize your site as well...You can do it by yourself but it may take a while before gaining your desired traffic...you need to weigh your options...if you don't have the time to learn the ways of optimizing then it is better to hire a professional SEO...

 

get a sitemap as well, use H1 tags with your keywords in them, etc. This will all help.
