What would you say if someone made a World Trade Centre game, or be it movie. I know the dust has only just settled and I morn for those who lost loved ones but I also see the possiblity of a good game.

Dont think that would go down to well. I cringe when people like eminem rap about the trade centers in his songs even though i think he's class. They would have people surfing tsunamis next.

Wouldnt put it past a few companies to try and make a buck on it though!

Personally I'd still find it in bad taste, but that's just me.

    Good luck with it though!

Only 1 of those 2 statements can really be true.

You even have to ask ?

Whats the game ? people trying to jump out of 60 story windows instead of getting burnt alive ?

Then maybe you could make a game where thousands die of starvation, maybe a whole city is drowned, or perhaps my personal favourite.."Slave capture" where you have to go and capture people like animals then make them work for free.

    Its obviously bad taste.

I don't think you'll get much positive feedback from this post, and I can't say myself that I agree with you.

But, you could make the argument that it's compared to other war games like Battlefield 1942, depending on which side you're on, it may seem offensive, but it's very popular.

I think it's just too touchy of a subject to be exploited this soon. Mabye in the far future. For now the families of the victims are still first and second generation family members so it may not be the best idea.

War games involving two sides that are mutually in conflict (germany v allies) is totally different than a "game" where innocents are killed by surprise.

Not a good idea soapbath! Didn't someone make a game about killing JFK? That didn't go over too well from what I recall.

    Are you joking?

You really get stranger by the day- Nice job! :D

Games and Movies are all ready to put on the market once the political climate changes a little bit. I think once the next presidential elections pass we will see a lot of this kind of a thing coming out.

It's a horrible idea. Totally tasteless and insensitive.

You were looking like you were starting to redeem yourself a bit, soapbath, until this thread. You obviosuly need to work a lot harder on empathy and sensitivity.

I think it would be fairly decent as a game goes to play....plotwise etc. Probably would have people (especially politicians) banning it because of the nature, it's only a game.

The comparison between battlefield and this are non existant.

Battlefield is a game about war, you just want to drop in the trade centre to get attention for the game.

I think its a very bad idea and there is no way it would pass cencors, like someone said, maybe in 20 years or so but i syill think it would be distatseful and disrespectful of all the people who died.
Saying this i aslo think these america's most wanted games and such are not very ethical either. You work for the usa and try and find bin laden and saddam etc..
What if it was the other way around and say a different country made a game where bush was the target.

I think all these games should not be made or at least given a different theme.
On another note im quite happy to play shoot em up games based in ww1 + ww2, so maybe time is a big issue and maybe in time, a long time, games like this may be acceptable

minstrel, we are talking around "what if" here :p. I agree that time is a issue, but also how the game is handled would me a major issue,
