The Digg Effect - My first experience

Got my first success at digg and it was too hot to handle :D

    http://digg.com/tech_news/The_Horror_of_working_at_Google_w_pics

Bandwidth: 58124.99 MB and for the first time my site was down (the page views killed me)

    Highlights :
Jumped to the no 1 in all the blog topsites
Increase in Adsense Revenue - 35$
70+ blog linkbacks (As per Technorati)
Increase in the number of subscribers with 300+ added readers via feedburner

Have register 60K uniques on Day one and 24K uniques in Day two...
My usual is 2K per day

edit : on day one, my site was down for 6 hours

So now i understand why people love digg so much

Added : Since people seem to be interested in SEO

If you guys want to know of SEO, i got one PR8 blog post backlink and 1 blogwide link, with the new backlinks

I carve for traffic as I seek exposure.

The digg spike gives us just that

I am confident that my site has good content, and my blog is working out 18-20% return traffic

Building PR is easy, but getting interest traffic is more difficult, PR is a waste if you have no traffic

Just one tip, understand the mood of the crowd and write a article centered around their interest..

I usually prefer SU, but digg came as a surprise :)

I think thats the key issue and maybe also the hardest one. Not only in terms of digg but rather generally in marketing.
One needs to please the masses and not himself, I can only congratulate you to this success.

I do not mean to spoil the mood. But I think that digg traffic doesn't last. But the increase in backlinks is definitely good as it helps on seo.

Ugh... hes not even mentioned SEO. Way to take the topic completely off topic.

Quite interesting results you have there anyway :)

Well... Duh, he never said it did.... No one expects the traffic to stay that high up... The Digg effect is that spike in traffic.

    @Kiviniar: Congrats
