What could one strong PR8 link do for me in say 1 months time? How much would it improve my rankings and such? The site has no out going links and has insane traffic!

    1 month can't do mutch

But for 6 months + boost your PR and depending on what Anchor text is used boost those rankings quite mutch (olso it depends how mutch related to your site is)

I think it can. I bough 3 PR2 links about a month ago. And my site went too PR3. A bargain. But with PR8 man. I think it could get you too PR4. As long as you do some directory submissions aswell. With such a high PR it should lead too some high traffic though at the least.

Link from that page can boost your site PR to 6 or even 7. Other than that, if you want to see change in ranking you would need to keep the link for 4-6 months ..

If you can make the $ back then yes. If it's jut an expense than no. Remember when you stop paying you stop getting the juice.

    Other then PR, nothing.

For SERP, multiple low pr links with proper anchor text will do more.

As for traffic, if your link is related to PR8 site, and link is well positionned, it could drive traffic to you.

Something is fishy. PR8 with no other outgoing links for $45. Hell, I'd buy 10 of those. You can easily make the money back.

    Ah, here we go.
I would never do these transactions on Ebay.

-Do you know the site is really his/hers?
-Did you check for fake Pagerank
-Do you know they will keep the link

So many things that can go wrong and with an ebay sale usually do.
Bottom line: $45 is way to low and stinks like a fishy scam

HAHA, dont be silly I have talked with the seller and he is the owner of the site. He also has a very good ebay rep, I doubt he would ruin it :) But the PR8 is only for a homepage, the inner page links are PR7 and 6 for a bit cheaper.

O.K. Lets talk, because I am REALLY the owner of www.yahoo.com
Seriously, just because you talked to someone doesn't mean he owns it.
Give me your phone number and I will call you (from a payphone) to make you feel all warm and fuzzy about a link purchase from me.

    Also regarding Ebay:

-I have seen people with 100 positive reps and when you check them out, they are all for $0.99 items. All of a sudden that person sells something really expensive, YIKES
-Every day I get several phishing emails trying to get my ebay login. Do you know how many people fall for this every day?
-Do you know that Ebay Accounts can be hijacked?

I am not saying any of this applies. It may be he just doesn't know how much a PR8 rank is worth. Chances are, if he runs a page that is PR8 he knows what he is doing and he knows what its worth, in which case I remain at my standpoint, something doesn't look right here.

But please go ahead and buy it. I have nothing to gain from keeping you from making a (possible) mistake. Maybe he really doesn't know what he has.
So far, I have never seen a good deal on ebay on ANYTHING.
