I am surprised some of the founding fathers of America or even presidents (Abraham Lincoln) were athiests. I though all American presidents had to be Christians. I thought they had to take an oath or something of that nature. Its interesting for sure. When I saw the name of Warren Bufett there, I kew Iit would also have to contain Bill Gates. They are very close friends.

That's what I thought too.. hopefully it'll show some Americans how athiests aren't all bad people (if they even still think that??? It's a pretty old though..)

    Abraham Lincoln

"The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma."

    - Abraham Lincoln, American president (1809-1865).

I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated to us through this book. -- President Abraham Lincoln

    ??? which is true ???
wonder if we can count on any quote?

So many of them! Some of my favorites are mark twain, earnest hemingway and Susan B. Anthony:).

"I was born a heretic. I always distrust people who know so much about what God wants them to do to their fellows."

    - Susan B. Anthony, American suffragist (1820-1906).

The second quote is taken out of context from Lincoln's public address.

that was far from a list of Atheists, it was only a bunch of quotes that could be construed to support atheism. Assigning Atheism to each quoter is absurd.

Well.. without religion in general (not targeting that specific religion). I highly believe in the message that the song is trying to send out, it's a great track :)

    Nice list.

Arabs and Muslims (despite Islam) had too some great freethinkers and atheists, here are some of their quotes:

    Al-Ma'arri:

    (Abu'l-Ala-Al-Ma'arri / 973-1057 / Syrian poet)
    http://www.humanistictexts.org/al_ma'arri.htm
    -------------------------------------------------

    Rhazes:

Asked if a philosopher can follow a prophetically revealed religion, al-Razi frankly replies:

Al-razi: physician, philosopher, and scholar who made fundamental and enduring contributions to the fields of medicine, alchemy, and philosophy.
    died in 925 AD
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Razi

    ---------------------------------------------

    Omar Khayyam:

Omar Khayyam was a Persian poet, mathematician, philosopher and astronomer, died in 1131 AD.

If Mark Twain was alive I'd like to vote him in as president, even if he was almost 200 years old.

Sure, go ahead. If I could blink people into nothingness I would every day. Then again I don't have a nuclear arsenal...
