Selecting a category in phpLD takes me nowhere

Discussion in 'Directories' started by pipes, May 2, 2007.

Ive just installed a template and imported a category dump of mine into a new directory that im setting up (phpLD) and when i select a category it goes nowhere, in the URL it shows the correct category selected but stays on the homepage.

Has anyone experienced this before and do you have any suggestions please?

    thanks
    pipes

Edit: Problem sorted, i had to use rebuild category cache.

Ahh...I think i know what the problem is...All you need to do is:

Go to adminpanel >> Go to directory tab >> Categories >> near top you will see a button "Rebuild category cache"
Just click that and let the process complete. That should take care of it. :)

iPod gave you good advice (thanks iPod!)
Also, remember we have a support forum on the phpLD site too.

David thanks, i ended up getting an answer from Dawzz, much appreciated.

Do either of you know if its normal after using rebuild category cache, for the urls to change from .com/Blogs/ to .com/index.php?c=2 ?

URL rewrite had become disabled, ive enabled it again but the category urls are still showing non seo friendly, they were ok before i used rebuild category cache.

I think I ran into a similar problem I had today.

fixed it by re-uploading the default .htaccess file for phpLD inside the index directory.

pipes, I just got your PM, I am guessing this was on pulsedirectory.com ?

just ummm check it now and tell me if its ok.

I also sent you a message asking for more info, but it looks like everything is ok now, but would just like more details, just in case.
