I've been gaining lots of links (in a normal, people blogging about it, kind of way). And went from a PR6 to PR5.

Yet on my blog, which very few link to, went from a PR3 to PR5.. Oh well..

Yeah Google has finished its big Easter data push, I think tons of sites have been knocked down in PR, I would not worry to much as normal Google’s up dates affect everyone a cross the board.

As the thread creator, I would say by talking to most people I know that most people have dropped in this update and since most dropped they just expanded the requirements to get to the next level.

This should not hurt anyone too much because we are all in the same boat.

Seem to be loads of PR7's down to PR6...

But it was a good update for me all up (don't want to sound cynical, but I bet some of my sites will drop on the next update :) )

When I moved my Blogger blog to a Custom Domain back in February, my PR went from 5 to 0 and my traffic plummeted to practically nothing. Took a while for the automatic forwarding from the old address to start filtering through and the backlinks to get refreshed in the index and traffic is back to where it was, and, PHEW, I got my PR5 back today. First time I noticed it. Haven't been looking for a few days. I got some good links in the past month, so hopefully next time around will be even better.

Backlinks might've been enough to flag Google, and when they visited it, it was obvious that they weren't "natural" backlinks. A number of 12 outbound links admittedly seems relatively small. But normally, if a page has an external inbound link, this is not the only one for that page. You may read related article about Google inbound links
    http://pr.efactory.de/e-inbound-links.shtml
    And read about Google Bombs
Over three months ago, The New York Times noticed that Google fixed its search algorithm to filter out "Google Bombs" from greatly affecting search ranking

2 of my sites went from PR4 to PR3, and I've been at PR4 for at least a year. Didn't expect a drop though :(

I have never really paid attention to toolbar PR. The toolbar is flaky. Your PR can change depending on which data center your seeing (at least it has for me)

Sites with 0 PR can rank well for many terms while sites with PR8 may still not be visible. Sites with lower visible toolbar PR can rank more highly than your page.

some of my sites are up from 0 to 4 and one of my blogs is up from 0 to 4. But one site whose count of incoming links increased is dropped from 5 to 4. This PR update is very strange.

No increase of PR on our company site. It is still the same. But there is a dropped of inbound links. There is update of my blog from PR0 to PR4.
