I own www.acneace.com and worked out I make $0.7 a click via Adsense ads but I get a very little amount of clicks on the blog and little visitors.
I had the site sumbitted to hundrends of directories via paid submission but still no traffic improvement results.

    Any ideas?

Unless you are featured on big directories this is unlikely to hugely increase traffic, how much traffic do you get from search engines?

Directories don't give traffic. You submit your site to directories to get backlinks.

Well than change your SEO tactic. You won't get huge amounts of traffic over night :)
paid submission..hmm... was one of those '1$ for 1,0000 directories' offers? not really working :) you could try submiting to niche directories but i would mainly focus on getting links from websites that are in my are of interest (paid links, link exchange, articles, etc)

You better put some affiliate ads on your website, we suggest you go to Commission Junction for that.

Try to optimize your blog for search engine traffic. What are the keywords you want for your site to turn up in the search engines? Use the following tool to get some keywords that you can rank for:

    http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/

Do you have knowledge on this topic? If yes, no harm joining a related forum and share your knowledge and at the same time, attract targeted traffic.

My SEO advice to your site is to improve your title to include the keyword that you want to rank for :)

    Good luck.

    Miles,

How about writing some articles about dealing with acne, the causes and treatments and submitting them to appropriate submission sites to drive visitors to your blog? Acne articles are very much in demand if they are informative.

    That's great Miles!

All you need to do is make sure you promote your blog in the resource box and then submit them to online submission sites. Look for other sites about acne or health that allows you to submit articles.

Also...it's better to add backlinks to your website gradually instead of in 1 shot. It looks more natural to google. If you build backlinks to fast you run the chance of being penalized by google.

Directories cannot improve traffic to your site. I suggest that you get more backlinks for your site through forums, classified ads, articles and press releases.
If you have blog you can submit to blog directories and submit it to social bookmarking site. Adsense through your blog get little amount of clicks, the best way is to promote your blogs through blogger forums. Update the content of your blog so as the users have something to read
