$100 creativity contest

Discussion in 'Design Contests' started by pher, Apr 24, 2007.

This contest is open to anyone with an ounce of creativity. You do not need to be a graphic designer. All you need is the ability to come up with a concept of what you think is cool, and be able to either visualize it graphically, or explain it in great detail so that I can follow your concept.

    Here's what I'm wanting:

I have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe. I'm wanting to do a full vehicle advertising wrap.

Here are two concept designs that have already been created by an outside advertising agency:

Here's what the company website look like:
    http://www.eskamoes.net/

And here's some other store pictures/logos you can use to get ideas:
    http://www.optionsbuddy.com/ccarlino/eskamoes/

Couple things that must be in the concepts:
    1. Moe, the penguin.
    2. Eskamoes name in its current color and font (Expo)
    3. Slogan "Frozen custard and more"

It is advised that you do some research to get an idea for what other car wraps look like. Google "vinyl car wraps". View portfolios of other vehicles with this type of advertising to get some ideas.

    Here's how you win...

If I decide to use your concept completely (90% or more of your ideas), I will pay you $100.
If I use 50% of your concept, then you receive $50.
If I use 25% of your concept, then you receive $25.
    Get the idea?

Percentages are subjective. Max payout is $100. I will pay via paypal only.

I'm going to be really picky with concepts. If I don't like your concept, please don't get your feelings hurt. This is an expensive process, and it needs to be really nice, I don't get do-overs.

    Deadline is Friday.

    Thanks for your time!

It's kind of a champagne color. The wrap will cover everything except the roof.

It's alot of work doing something like that, and I'm not sure how you would say the design without being able to design, and how would the %s work like that, because you can't tell an exact design from a description.

    I disagree.

The concepts in the original posts are from me explaining what I was wanting and the designer running with it.

Let's pretend you made this suggestion: "make the entire vehicle purple, make Moe's fur on fire while holding a snowcone". If I were to use the color purple and Moe holding a snowcone but nothing else... then you would receive 66% since I chose to use 2 of the 3 suggestions. And this was done all with text, no graphic design experience necessary. If I incorporate someone else's ideas into the mix as well, then your payout might be adjusted depending on the impact of their idea.

If I like the ideas you pitch, I'll pass it along to the designer. If its something that looks good, then I roll with it. And pay you accordingly.

I think you should just put a picture of that smiling girl on your website on the side of the van.

How about making the whole thing look like an igloo-and having "Be Cool" or the "A cool place to be" on there....

or the Penguin on a skateboard/snowboard/surfboard....something like that with the "BE COOL!" or "A cool place to be" and have his arm/flipper (the one that is straight out, holding a serving tray w/food and a big frozen treat like banana split or something..... or even a huge banana split on the side (Bottom) of the door section, and the frozen custard & more part written across the "tray" of the banana split..... and then have the penguin surfing the coolwhip of the banana split on a skateboard/snowboard/surfboard......

    ........still thinking...;o)

I like the igloo idea. I'll see how that looks and get back with you. It might look too busy though.

I've considered putting something in his hand, but I wouldn't be able to use it on the driver's side since that hand runs into the window.

The remaining ideas are good, but a bit too much for the vehicle size I'm working on. It would be quite busy and I'm not sure if I'd be able to show all of that, and get people to understand what I'm selling.

As far as the igloo idea is, it is the shape that would fit just above the tire I think...:D nice work from whoever did that for you though!

PC is still down but picture this, how about flames at the front, approaching the penguin which is near the rear, and as the flames approach the penguin with his icecream in hand the flames begain to freeze and from the penguin and behind, picture an arctic type scene

(Front of vehicle to the penguin a firey hell.....From the penguin back, a cool icey arctic scene)

I'm still waiting for the igloo rendition. Will post here if it looks good.

Not yet. Only idea I'm trying so far is the igloo. So far its not looked right. I'm having the designer play around with placement.
