Have they been in contact with you since the carbonon site has gone up?

Do you know if they are full time? I imagine this could damage their reputation greatly if they are full time developers.

Do you have any find of FTP or control panel access to the site? If you have access to both a decent deloper should be able to move the site of fix that error relativley quickly.

Sad to hear, but now you've learned your lesson, I never would pay companies that I doubt in, I rather pay more to a well respected one.

Did you review these guys before you started the project? Did you find out if they had a good reputation?

That's an expensive lesson, im sorry to hear that? But you know what you could do is contact a legal solicitor in India, and you could get the solicitor group to conact them by phone and also send them agressive letters Carbonon

Yes, I have access to the site and DB. It looks like they just deleted the user from the db, although the actually db is still there. I suppose recreating the user would fix the error, but I don't know what password they used.

I went through Guru.com, and they had pretty good feedback so I didn't bother doing any more research. Big mistake on my end.

I know legal action might not be worthwhile, but surely the threats are better than nothing...?

That really sucks that Carbonon scammed you. Hope you have some luck getting your money back.

If I were you I would look into Indias laws and whether they could be tried there or where you are located. Depending on the country you are dealing with you may be able to take them to court in your country. Sure that might not help much but if they ever decide to visit where you are from they will have problems.

Again sorry to hear Carbonon scammed you.

How did you pay them? If by credit card/PAYPAL then request a chargeback.

This is partly the reason I find it very hard to outsource development.... you can't trust anyone. I am in Australia and I must admin I am very reluctant to send any development work overseas to any country especially a small firm.

Good luck with it... hope you can somehow get some money back.

Yeah, thats so unfortunate about what happened to you. I am sure that other indian development firms not related to carbonon could be upset that the quality of work that carbonon did for you may reflect on them.

    :)

Unless I am not much mistaken, you are the man behind Bluesfear.com? Very sad to hear that you have been scammed, Your website was the one which I used to use when I started designing.

Do you have some contract docs? You can take them to court.
