Please give source of article for credibility. The reason I have to ask is I have sites going back pre 2000. I usually register all domains for 2 years and have seen no major advantage other than saving a few bucks. It's not like I do "churn and burn" domains, write bogus reviews or anything blackhat so I am in it long term!

I have found that age helps but it is not a big factor.

I think I'll go read some sci fi until I get a source ...

Thanks but i have a question

QUOTE: " User behavior is checked. Google keeps track of how long visitors stay on your site and from what pages they exit your site. You also get points for bookmarking or adding to favorites."

    How is this possible??

Thats BS. I really wish people would get off the "you have to vary your anchor text" train.

The way Google sees it is YOU should have no say in your anchor texts at all. The person who is naturally linking to your site would determine the anchor text. Therefor using the same anchor text and not varying it enough would mean absolutely nothing.

Just think about how many incoming links to eBay, Google, Yahoo, MSN, YouTube, ect use the the sites name as the anchor text. Think they are getting hammered for it? Of course not.

Point is use whatever anchor text you want and if its the same one over an over then ohh well, Google isnt going to do anything about it.

Didnt read it all before I posted the first time.

Going to raise the BS flag on that one also. Would love for someone to explain to me how Google is tracking my sites stats and when it gets bookmarked or favorited. Dont say alexa either.

I really need to see a link to this so called patent that was released. Who knows I could be wrong.

Why do you think Google is ICANN accredited? Isn't it obvious? I think it was a genius idea...

Does anyone know for sure if the click through rate thing is true? This is the first time I've heard about that.

I highly doubt it is true. This part I would bet my middle nut on being false.

Keep in mind that just because a patent is filed for something doesn't mean they actually use those variables. As a business, when you have something incredibly valuable to protect and plenty of money, you keep some secrets locked away and don't patent them and patent other things that are viable but you don't ever intend to use but MAY come in useful in one capacity or another in the future.

It's all a game of chess.

Very good article!! There are really strong point made in the article

But I strongly believe that 50% are true and the rest is not. From my own experience Google wants us to believe something else just to keep us busy.

About the lenght of the domains registration. Personally that may increase positive points onto your ranking, but just because you have not noticed it doesn't mean that it doesn't do anything if you get a 1 year domain or a 5 year domain registration. If it does help in rankings then it will most probably be so small that you will not even notice it at all. At the end of the day, anybody can registrar a domain for 1 or 5 years so that will not help google that much if they give alot of postive points to the rankings.

I believe that some of the article is not true either. Also, I definately know that if I had a search engine that ranked sites, I would never tell the site owners how I rank their sites. If anything I would give them bogus hints to send them into the wrong directions.

So I don't think Google would have told everyone how they completely rank sites and they never will as it will only just make their search results get worse from the SEO's people.

Also, if they give all this information, they will only be feeding their competitors with useful information which they don't want them to have.
