"Nothing"? Of course PR means something. Published PR is a trailing indicator, showing you that you are doing (or not doing) a good job building quality links to your site.

This is sometimes true, but if we don't know the algo, we don't know how accurate it is. PR is important, but not to the degree that these threads indicate. If the people who checked their PR (and AdSense, and traffic, etc) 50 times a day spent that time actually link and content building, the internet would be a better place.

That's what I meant in my rant. I guess I came across a bit aggressive though as my red rep shows :). +rep for you

    I see the PR3 here:
    http://oy-oy.eu/google/pr/?url=http://www.linkbooker.com/&#r
    on 72.14.205.100

I posted earlier that I had a site that had PR change for some internal pages during Google's canonicalization update:
    http://oy-oy.eu/google/pr/?url=http://cookbook-bookstore.com/good-housekeeping/&#r
In the a previous PR update, PR went to zero for anything not linked directly from the homepage of that site. That url kept its PR.
It lost the PR it had prior to the canonicalization update, and I fully expect it to return upon a real update.

    http://oy-oy.eu/google/pr/?url=http://cookbook-bookstore.com/good-housekeeping/key-all-2.html&#r
shows PR 3 for 72.14.205.100 and 2.14.207.100, which it got from the canonicalization update. It had lost it's PR because it was not linked from the homepage.

What you are seeing is two versions of the same update, there were some flaws in it, evidenced by doing what it shouldn't have to the good-housekeeping folder (the first listing page), and should have to the good-housekeeping/key-all-2.html page. It was nipped in the bud, and did not spread far.

PageRank exports seem to be preceded by backlink exports, there is a pattern. If PR had changed for your site recently, wouldn't you expect to see the backlinks changed as well?

Checking your backlinks with the same site's tool:
    http://oy-oy.eu/google/links/?url=http://www.linkbooker.com/&#r
shows a steady 10 across the board.

Did you get those backlinks about the same time as this?
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=2592995#post2592995
A whois lookup shows an interesting registration date of March 4th.

That backlink update accompanied the PR changes I saw with the canonicalization update (look at the dates), and I believe that PR is what we are seeing now, flawed data stuck on a couple of d/c's. Not every site was affected, but something was changed that shows up for some.

Nobody noticed those changes unless they were in a situation such as mine, losing PR to so many pages and then gaining almost everything back on 2 d/c's.

And then see it get stopped...

You can't always expect green rep. Just bear in mind it's for a sharing purposes.
But thanks anyway for a link.
    Green rep for you.

This thread has not become so big it has been merged with another thread

Also there may be some slight fluctuations as the update usually starts from PRo sites the sites which comes into Google's spider from the last update!

Yeah maybe this update is not for all the old sites ... only newbies sites might be affected.

Okay, well I just detected my first domain which is undergoing a change...

This is not a newbie domain, I've had it registered for a bit...

Unfortunately, it's not a meaningful change for me in that its a domain that I am 302 redirecting and I think its just picking up the rank of the other domain.

About 16 of the data center ip's are reporting PR4 from PR0
