Nameservers works almost instantly now?

    Hi,

    I'm getting new hosting accounts and finding nameservers updates are giving me access in under two minutes :) :confused:
    ~~~~~~~~
    Has the overall 'Net DNS system' changed the last ~3-4 months?
    Are DNS updates usually really fast now?
    Thanks
    Well, it may be a coincidence or the TTL is quite low; meaning more frequent updates to the DNS caches.
    Computer and networks are getting faster each passing day...so why not the DNS system overall ?
    I'm seeing it too :)
    Certainly, 'the entire Internet' doesn't see the changes within 95 seconds, but my connection to new hosts is super fast, these last few weeks.
    Generally nameservers are uodated instantly, the problem that slows you down from seeing them is you ISP namservers, they seem to update less frequently, thats why I use OpenDNS for my nameservers at home.
    Just rememebr that just because you get it quickly does not mean that everyone does. Keep your old site up for at least 48 hours and 72 is better.
    Problem is with ISPs that utilize cache servers. DNS itself can update immediately.
